“A good place for a hike.”
Review of Nordmarka

Nordmarka
Reviewed January 2, 2014

We took the #1 metro line to Frognerseteren which was the end of the line. From there we embarked on a short but beautiful height. The signs were easy enough to follow, but I would plan on bringing a map of cell phone if you're going close to darkness.

Gorgeous outdoor nature area with easy access from the city centre - go to the Holmenkollen ski jump and the Frognerseteren restaurant (sit outside during the summer to get views of the city) while you're there!

Green, fresh air, more Oxygine, less or simply no traffic sign, a pathway, great place for joggers, walkers, wanders, picnic or simply a weekend break.

Stunning view - in close proximity of the city!
You can literally start your trip as soon as you step out of the public transport, and most people suggest to take tram no. 1 and start from that end. Fortunately or unfortunately for us, we took a bus (we intended to go to Opera but went the wrong direction) and so we started from somewhere we didn't know. We did manage to see some extremely breath taking view through the 4 hours hike, but we had such a hard time looking for the right way to get back to the tram (the bus ends at the otherside of the forest).
There are many little paths which could be a bit confusing when you ask for directions but I'd have to admit getting lost has never been so enjoyable and relaxed...
Tips: bring some water

Visited here once by public transit, to enjoy the views and of course the amazing apple cake! We had Oslo passes which covered our transit fares. A lovely August day, sunshine! The second time we drove up and had lunch. Lovely old 1890s building has been a cafe/restaurant since that time.
Great spot for hiking, or just enjoying the view (as we old folks did).
