“Delicious!”
Reviewed March 1, 2014 via mobile

We were surprised that this restaurant served better food than any other fully packed restaurants. The price is also reasonable. We only managed to try here for lunch before leaving tromso. During our visit it seems to be full of locals just half an hour after the shop opened for lunch, which clearly testified the greatness in the food they served. Good food good service good price good location, nothing more to ask for!!

“a pleasant surprise!”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

Came here initially for 2 reasons. 1. it was cold outside! and 2. the road was so icy my husband was struggling to walk (walks with a walking stick)! So we came in here - close to the carpark exit by the Library.

So pleased we came - really good Norwegian food which we had wanted to try, and pleasant serving staff who accommodated our (fussy) children's needs. Price was not eye-wateringly expensive - just OMG-we're-in-Norway- expensive.
We had ham and pea soup, salmon and egg smorebrod, and croissants. Fantastic coffees - really good. Seemed to be somewhere the locals go! Go and enjoy!

“Best meal of the holiday”
Reviewed February 25, 2014

This is a small intimate restaurant with a limited menu, but the food is cooked and presented to perfection. My wife had fresh cod and I had stockfish (dried cod - a Norwegian speciality). Both came accompanied with vegetables and a sauce and were excellent.
There were only about two other main courses on the menu that night - one was meat, the other another fish one, I think - so don't come here looking for too much in the way of choice.
Our waitress was absolutely lovely, and was happy to take as much time as we needed to describe - in English, of course! - what each item on the menu was and how it was served.
We could not have been more delighted to find this place - which specialises in good authentic Norwegian cuisine, in a city which seems to have so many so-so pizza restaurants.
It's pretty expensive compared to home, but then so is everything in Norway. For the quality of food and service, we were happy to pay.

“The locals love it”

Very friendly service, cod with mussels in fennel sauce was delicious, good selection of wines by the glass, Mack on draught too. Highly recommended £70 for two.
