“not as expected”
Reviewed July 10, 2012

We have heard about the church and it looked really nice from far away. But as we got close it was not at all that impressive. There was also a charge fot getting inside. The view of it is best from the other side of the bridge.

Lovely old-construction wooden church in the center of Tromso. Definitely worth seeing! Free entry, of course.

“Handsome 19th century Lutheran cathedral”
Reviewed April 19, 2012

This handsome 19th building in central Tromso was constructed in the 19th century in the neo gothic style. It is light and airy inside and well worth looking in to. Visitors are welcome to the services on Sunday and there are sometimes evening concerts.

“Wooden delight”
Reviewed March 16, 2012

This 1861 church is a wooden adaptation of the Neo-Gothic style. Inside the Cathedral has a warm, homely feel to it. Loads of wood carvings too.

The church is opened by volunteers, so they cannot alway keep it open in the announced opening hours 12-4pm.
