I travelled with my teenage daughter and I always wanted a small group, so Creative vacations is perfect. Vidar is our tour guide and photographer. He gave good instruction about how to use the camera and make sure everything are in order at his home-studio before we headed off for the chase. He is knowledgeable and keen to share any questions about Tromsø and northern lights. He even shared his knowledge about the science of stars which is quite fascinating stars watching in the wilderness. The weather condition that day was not optional but it turned out better as we drove further and further from city. He did not give me any fault hope but we managed to catch a glimpse of the northern lights with a different route. He served us warn veg soup, snack and coffee around firewood that he set up and he entertained us with his Troll story:) Very nice feeling. Vidar suggested that we headed off to Finland (since none of us have ever been there) to try our luck. Although we did not have much luck with the northern lights but stars watching was phenomenal. Vidar took care of us by dropping us back to our hotel which was very caring. We are fortunate to travel with 4 other nice travellers especially the two young ladies from Switzerland. very helpful and friendly. Vidar took some great shots for us with his camera(we did a bummer by forgetting our camera in our car in the airport). The termal suits, boots and even gloves came in handy because they really kept you warm. So, every penny is worth spent! Thank you Vidar!

This was one of the most incredible experiences we’ve had. We were lucky enough to have a crystal clear night and the northern lights came out to dance. Vidar and his team are amazing. We are very much amateur photographers and they helped us tweak our skills to capture this very surreal moment. I would highly recommend to anyone with even a slight interest in photography and who want a more personal northern lights experience.

Vidar and Silvia make this tour to become an unforgettable moment - thank you for this!
Small groups, Vidar is a pro photographer who is keen to find the Northern lights and does not give up till he has found some (it was snowing the night we booked the tour). The fire and hot soup by the seaside whilst under the open amazing sky makes it even more special. Thank you also to Jeff, the Canadian guide, supporting the tour with humour and friendliness! Grüezi from the Swiss couple :-)

Vidal and his team took great care of us, from pick up to drop off. We were taken to his home for a quick intro into night/aurora photography and to borrow suitable clothing for our little aurora hunt. For those who don’t have a suitable camera, they have a couple spare and tripods. We were taken to a small clearing by a fjord, but the skies hadn’t cleared enough after a while so we headed off to the mountains where we hit jackpot. For those who know very little about how the auroras work, it really is a luck of the draw and, as Vidal mentioned, a low Kp doesn’t necessarily mean that you won’t be able to see it. Because Tromso is within the arctic circle, the Kp can be quite low for it to appear, which was the case this time. Vidal helped with the settings on my camera and his team provided a very welcome vegetable soup, cookies, tea and coffee. Worth every cent!

This is a must on anybody's bucket list. This little company were able to give us their undivided attention and explain the science behind the lights; we had a great time and would recommend this experience to anyone interested in going to see the aurora.
