Owner description: North on the whale island 40 minutes drive threw amazing coastal scenery you will find the most charming place called Risvika. This is our homeplace, and for generations my family have lived by farming and fishing here on the coast. Threw times things have changed, and now the farm has no animals any more. One day my father sat under the magic of the the northern lights when he descided to share with people the amazing gift of nature.. Since 2004 we have had the pleasure to welcome guests from around the world into our hearts and home. Our speciality is the Small groups, the local guides from our area, and the family that gives the real authentic north Norwegian charm that makes our guests come back. Join us when we go chasing the northern lights, or go on the amazing whale safari. Let yourself be taken away with the fun stories, the wormth from the bonfire, the elements of nature and the memory that last for a lifetime.. Hope to be there and share the gift of natur with you!

Had a wonderful overnight stay with Tromso Friluftsenter this January - saw the northern lights, enjoyed sweet snacks and a warm fire, a delicious dinner, and so much more! The guides were extremely friendly and did everything they could to ensure I had a pleasant night, including getting me proper clothes and boots. The 'base camp' is next to a beautiful lake and I can't imagine a better place for viewing the lights - no driving around hunting for them, but rather sitting by a fire enjoying marshmallows and hot drinks. I was also able to go for a walk in the morning and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of northern Norway. This tour group provides a unique and personal experience. Worth every penny.

Trine collected us and brought us to the camp where there was a bonfire, cake, tea and coffee and AMAZING northern lights. She took photos for us and helped us adjust our camera so we could get the best shots. It was a brilliant tour, trine was so lovely and helpful and full of enthusiasm, and she even gave us marshmallows for when we were sitting around the bonfire! Would definitely recommend going on tribes tour, hoping to go back in December to see the whales, as we came too late. Wouldn't go with any other company. Just superb!

Went with the company on 9th January. It suited us fine - no long bus journeys, no hype - just an enthusiastic leader keen to make a memorable night. And she did. Coffee, buns and a roaring fire in an almost traditional tent added to the great ambiance. And we saw the lights.

Most enthusiastic, knowledgable guide in the charming Trine. Probably best value for the money in Tromso. Personalised, considerate and as intimate as one can conduct group experiences such the amazing whale watching and Northern Light Chasing. Highly recommended.

We went on a couple of trips with Trine. We had a fab time on a rib boat watching the dolphins, and even having tea and biscuits with them swimming right by us. Trine is friendly and informative. You can spend a hundred pounds going on a northern lights tour and end up seeing nothing, but Trine will not do go out on her tour if she thinks there is little chance of seeing them if the conditions on not right.
