Great location near everything and especially very practical if you are embarking for a cruise.
Look for a room sea view.I found the hotel cozy. The city is a small city do not expect anything glamorous

The bathroom was ok, otherwise everything was far from good. The reseption straff gave me a new room after I told I was leaving the " 7 sqm" room they first gave me. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is better to eat outside. The stretchsheet hadn't been washed during the last Year.

Location in the centre of Tromsø is close to perfect. Rooms in the old part of the hotel are rather small but nicely decorated, and bathrooms are newly refurbished. Rooms in the new building are larger, though the bathrooms (from about 2007?) look at little more dated. Some have a nice seaview (worth the upgrade if you plan to spend some time in the room).

Check in was professional and friendly, just as expected.

What's not so good is that Radisson in Tromsø sadly seem to have taken a low cost approach. Amenities in the bathrooms have been replaced with soap dispensers, removing one small but important luxury feel with the lack of the standard Radisson Anne Semoine's amenties.

Breakfast is ok, but in 2013 it's a big surprise that a European Radisson hotel doesn't offer more than regular cooffee. No hot milk, no machine for latte, cortado etc. I asked for a latte but got a "No we can't" instead of the promised Yes we can. It's interesting that Radisson's sibling Park Inn offers more coffee types! And why serve scrambled eggs made from egg powder? That's for cheap cantinas, not a 4 star hotel.

Last but not least: Why do 90% of all hotels have showers that flood the bathroom floor? Radisson Tromsø is among these 90%.. It's not a way to reduce number of towels used.

If you don't care about these rather small (but for many important) details, and want a decent stay in a nice location, Radisson is a good place to stay. Offer amenities in addition to the cheap soap dispenser, invest in a coffee machine with a variety of coffees and serve real scrambled eggs, and Radisson Tromsø will be a 4+ hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms facing sea are quieter and are worth the upgrade.

The rooms were average, but the staff were very friendly and it was close to everything. The post office was just around the corner, as were the rest of the shopping streets. The staff were very friendly and they have gym and pool even though we did not have the possibility of testing it ourselves. Definitely a good hotel to stay at, but it was nothing special.

On a recent trip driving across Lapland we drove into Tromso and stayed at the Radisson Blu, one of my favored hotel chains in Scandinavia and the Baltics. I had booked two rooms since we were a group of 4, with my wife's mother, daughter, wife and myself. Upon checking in the reception clerk was most attentive asking if we needed adjoining rooms, which was convenient for us, and quickly found the rooms in our class and called immediately to have them unlocked and connected. I was driving my larger Audi SUV and needed parking, while there was a parking garage he indicated that it was nearly full and we could park on the street. He provided the parking slip for the window - this was maybe 3-4E and gave very precious directions on where I could park. This is important to note since this is a very small city on an island with very limited parking and many one-way and restricted driving streets. After we had been to our rooms we were coming down for dinner, we had arrived late on a Sunday so there was limited selection of places to dine, again the same clerk came over to us in the lobby to see if he could assist and provided a few recommendations including the hotel pizza café - which in the end result of walking about decided was the best for a quick bite. The staff there was also very helpful in explaining our best options for the menu and price wise as well. Further, we needed another towel and my wife saw one of the cleaning staff on our way back to our room and she had approached her and asked if we had everything we needed and brought us extra towels. In the morning when we went to a excellent breakfast, again the staff was very attentive, assisting my wife's mother in a couple request she had and returned to our table to ensure we had everything we needed. Upon departing the experience was the same, the reception staff gave excellent directions to drive out of the city and some recommendations on things to see as well.
Overall the staff at the hotel were great! and I would recommend this hotel for business or a stops on visiting the area.

The hotel is in a good location in the town centre with airport bus just outside the hotel.
The lift was small and the room was decent for a short stay. The front desk lady was helpful with the directions around town. We managed to catch the lights that night in the city.

The hotel is very centrally located, right next to Hurtigruta and just a few steps away from the airport bus. The front desk staff is amazing: friendly, helpful and professional. Breakfast is great; I always order egg and bacon when I stay here, and the kitchen prepares this nicely. If you get a business class room at a good price, the hotel is a great place to stay. Nespresso coffee maker in your room, bathrobe, great view, comfortable bed and good sound insulation.

The hotel was redone a few years ago, but unfortunately, the rooms are not well maintained. Our first room had a constant high-pitched noise, and we were moved to a different room. However, in both rooms there were stains on the wall in the shower and holes and stains on the curtains. Our second room also had chewing gum on the floor. My daughter stepped on it and found it pretty gross. There were stains on several of the pillows and the lamps, and the plastic tube of the showerhead was broken (and clearly has been so for a while). Obviously, the hotel does not have any routines for maintenance and checking and insuring quality of cleaning. Part of the business room deal is a newspaper delivered to your room in the morning, which didn’t happen for our first morning their. When I asked housekeeping why I hadn’t got a newspaper, the reply I got was that she never had heard of such an arrangement. To top it all, the air conditioning didn’t work, but fortunately the window could be opened. a

Conclusion: ok place to stay if you get a good price. Good breakfast, friendly staff and comfy bed, but rather worne.
