Visit this beautifull ice hotel. We had so much fun with the snowscooter ride and the dogsledge ride. The reindeer dinner was very tasty. I really enjoyed the stories from the guide. I had many questions for the guide but he had all the answers and many time for me. The overstay in the beautifull iceroom was an experience once in a lifetime.

My daughter and I did the ice tour with snowmobile today January 17, 2020. It was a very challenging and conquering experience for me as I never touch any snowmobile before and I did it with flying colors. It was my 11 year old daughter who challenged me that we can do it together. Our guide that day was very helpful and very accommodating. Please extend our thanks to him, I forgot his name. The ice dome visit is one of the best tour we had so far! The route for the snowmobile was breathtaking!! Thank you all.

We stayed in the Ice Domes for one night. We were picked up by coach from our hotel in Tromso and driven to the secluded area where the domes are situated. The evening began with a short introduction to our stay, situated in the warm bar/cabin with a log fire and food/drinks available. We then went snow-shoeing which was so much fun (warm clothing and accessories are provided). It takes around 20 minutes to snow shoe to where the guides set up a camp fire and cook your dinner (we had reindeer for the first course and salmon for the second and it was lovely). Our guides Dave and Jasper were lovely and told us lots of facts and stories about the area and the domes. After dinner, we had a guided tour of the ice domes and were given an ice shot in the bar! The guides stay with you in the lodge until just before midnight roasting marshmallows and chatting, then leave you all for the night. We shared the domes with one other couple, but once in our room neither of us could hear each other so you felt like you had the whole place to yourself. There are lovely showers and toilets in the warm lodge and towels are provided. There are also reindeers onsite which you can visit when you wish! The scenery in the background was stunning. An absolutely magical experience and surprisingly not as cold as you would think providing you follow the guides instructions about what to sleep in. A once in a lifetime adventure!

Poor service. Don’t advise to pay for lunch! A soup is not a meal and you have the same limited time as the other visitors that pay less. The tour lady was always running and there is no time to enjoy because there is always a big group really to go in. It’s a big business!

Hey Rita,

I would be very interested to hear what day you were visiting. Around Christmass and new year it can get pretty busy around Ice Domes indeed, just like all winter destinations in the north since most of Europe goes on holliday that time of the year.
Everybody has around the same time, 2 hours, to walk around in the ice domes and surroundings. Most people end up waiting in our warm facilities before that time is over.
It is true that we serve a well filled fish soup with bread and cheese for lunch. Untill your review we have had only positive reactions to this.

It seems you had a bad experience with us and we would appreciate it if you could send us a mail with a more detailed description of your experience. Also since we don't understand where you got the idea that others pay differently for their entrance fee.

Looking forward to your more detailed description.

oh my, this was one of the best experiences , beautiful ice domes, overnight in beautiful ice/snow bedroom, incredible snow shoe-ing excursion with awesome guides Matthijs and Martin , the meal they cooked over the fire (break during the snow- shoe excursion) was the best meal we had the entire time in Norway, hospitality throughout was outstanding, our family of 4 enjoyed this immensely, and we are 4 very different people:)
