Situated right on the harbour and so has good views. Food and service are of a high standard but not a cheap place to eat if you are used to UK prices (meal with wine for 2 almost £200) but that's Norway for you!

Went here with a friend after hearing that it was one of the best restaurants in Tromso. Hadn't booked but we were lucky enough to get a table anyway.

Opted for the 4 course chefs menu - final price was £90 per person with a drink each. But the food was delicious, beautifully presented and you were not rushed at all throughout the night. Four courses is a lot, but there was time in between for it to settle (One of the courses was cheese). They kept topping up the table water without asking, which was appreciated.

Each dish was explained by the waitress who did a great job. The one thing that made me laugh was that "variation of onions" turned out to be leeks. The waitress seemed to be looking after a lot of tables but clearly knew what she was doing and handled it extremely well. We didn't have a seat by the window, but could still appreciate the view out over the water. It is in a great location and this restaurant would be amazing for any special occasion.

Although the food and presentation were excellent I was extremely disappointed to find that the chefs were "prima donnas" and unwilling to serve their customers with what they wanted. I absolutely detest cooked vegetables and requested a salad instead (or even raw vegetables) but was informed that the chefs were not willing to do this and for a restaurant of this calibre I expected better. Most other restaurants I go to this is never a problem and in fact some of them even go out of their way to adapt a dish as they would rather adapt it creatively. Whilst I appreciate that this is the chef's art their culinary experience is such that they should be able to amend a dish so that it doesn't detract from their art but gives a pleasurable dining experience to their customer. This is the reason why I have given an average rating instead of excellent

I was pleased however to be able to choose the half lobster starter for my main course instead, which was excellent, tender and sweet and the herb dip was also very good. The coconut and passionfruit sweet was also excellent. My husband chose the Chef's special without the cheese option and he was very impressed.

Superb. This was our second visit to this restaurant and it did not disappoint. The plates of food are always an art form. But not to take anything away from the taste which is sublime. food packed with fresh powerful flavours. The staff here are always very friendly and well informed concerning the food served and the wines in their cellar. Dont miss this one next time you are in Tromso. Bookings may not neccessary, although it does get busy towards the weekend. However, it does ensure you get a good table by the Fjord.

We had the chef's recommendations and found them delicious. The meal with 3 glasses of wine between us was expensive but that's Norway for you. the waiter spoke good English and was extremely helpful.
