Stayed here for 4 nights in Feb 2011. The 3 best things about this hotel are perfect location, lovely modern clean rooms, and more importantly the kitchenette. With the cost of eating out being expensive, we found the kitchenette a god send. Can't recommend the cityliving hotel high enough.

Great value accommodation. Very clean and spacious - we opted for a top of the range deluxe room - with bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and living area. As warm as you wanted and very quiet at night. Ideally located in the centre of town.

Only downside was not seeing the Northern Lights during the six nights we stayed - clouds and bad luck.

Skiing at Kroken is very good.....if you can find the entrance gates after getting off the 20 bus! Dog sledding at Lyngsford was excellent (thanks Amanda for giving us the racing dogs!). Went on a chase witrh GuideGunnar, he found the clear skies on the Finnish border, but the lady decided not to come out and play :-(

Great apartments and the kitchen is worthwhile to keeps costs down as Norway is expensive. Tromso is not huge, location is good close to buses, shopping, bars etc. The apartment was clean, practical and secure. If you want to see the northern lights don't worry about the expensive excursions, catch a number 20 or 42 bus out of town past the university about 10 mins. Get off out of town and walk in to the forest (follow the dog walkers and stay on the track) and look up :-) Breakfast across the road (buy discounted tickets at the apartment reception) is worth stocking up on and a reasonable price and we found a cafe/bar Cafe Circa with free wifi and good coffee for warming up after seeing the lights. The only thing I would say is wifi would be better than the plug in internat access at the apartment

We stayed in the City Living Hotel for 3 nights in January on the 6th floor in a "superior room". Check in was smooth on arrival and we were given two key cards for our room.

Room was clean, had a good kitchenette and a nicely appointed bathroom. The heated bathroom floor was a bonus!!

Location and price was key to us booking this apartment. The hotel is located right in the centre, with two supermarkets (ICA and Eurospar) within a few minutes walk.

Tromso is a beautiful place and this was a great base for our explorations. We will be back.

Norway is expensive - especially for food and drink - so high quality self-catering accommodation in the centre of town is a great cost-saving find, as shopping at the many local supermarkets is significantly cheaper than eating 3 meals a day in cafes or restaurants.

The place is welcoming, neat, clean, warm and overall a very good deal. The staff are friendly and helpful in every way.

We went for a "superior" room as it had a double bed (rather than two singles), for a slight increase in cost.

Only downside is the breakfast at the local restaurant "Egon". The 80Kroner voucher may sound like a comparatively good deal for a buffet, but it was amongst the worst I've ever eaten! Even the coffee was disgusting.
