Located within the brand new Rica Hotel in Narvik, Tind is a cool retro-style restaurant (decor-wise) with nice design-details to keep you entertained during the short wait for your entrée.
My companion and I are staying at the hotel on our way back south after summer vacation in Lofoten, and chose the on-site restaurant as the most convenient dining option. We had a window table and fast and impeccable service.
The bread we were given as complementary starter was extremely good, freshly baked w. crunchy crusts. There were two kinds, and for once the butter was not out of the fridge but ready to spread...
We only had a main course, no starter or dessert, but were quite full at the end of the meal. I had a dish of pot roasted chuck of ox, where unfortunately the meat was too hard and chewy, but the vegetables and sauce all excellent. My companion had an interesting broiled arctic char with spinach/mushroom risotto, creamed pumpkin and other baked roots. She was very happy.
The Rica Narvik also sports a 16th floor sky bar with a bar menu. We just went there for coffee and after-dinner drinks. The service up there left a bit to be desired, as some items were unavailable although listed in the drinks menu. The waitress also seemed a bit new to the trade and unfamiliar with the menu. The view was pretty great though, but on a Friday night the bar was a tad too loud for our taste.
