I was in Narvik on a business trip. A city I have not visited since the early 80s.

What a pleasant surprise to find this hotel! Modern architecture among Narviks boring postwar concrete. 16 floors, skybar with panoramic views, good food, big room with a very good bed and service minded staff.

Someone has done a very good job here! And even if the cityscape is boring, the views, the light and the skilift is sensational ! And not many skybars offers such a fantastic view on a clear, dark, cold night.

Stayed here for a full 10 days in winter.Warm welcome on arrival was followed by excellent personalised care throughout. The hotel has a central Narvik location with easy access to everywhere of note in the town. Restaurant good, bar on top floor a must, if only for the view.Location captures the essence of this interesting north Norway town situated between tall mountains and deep blue sea. Ask for a room with a view of both, high up in the tower building. A modern hotel with aspirations to care for its residents as done in the best traditions of hospitality. Will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Top floors for an eagles eye view

We arrived in Narvik for the night because it was the end of the line from Kiruna. Once we got to the hotel we found a nice hotel. Check in was easy. We loved the coffee in the sky bar looking over the hill and harbour. Dinner was very nice.

Room was sleek but had little quirks like the birdy coat hooks

We stayed in the hotel twice within a week for transit between Tromso and Kiruna. Like the other Rica hotels, rooms in the Narvik Rica are very clean, nicely appointed, very comfortable bed, and a spacious bathroom. Each room is also equipped with a water kettle with tea/coffee bags.

The view from our rooms both times were beautiful, breakfast selections are very good, and the dinner we had in the hotel restaurant was outstanding. The dishes were beautifully presented with wonderful and tasty flavors. It was one of the best meals we had during 2 weeks in Scandinavia.

The staffs were very friendly and very helpful. We left our iPad in the lobby by accident, and the receptionist came to us later with the iPad. They also helped us figured out the best lookout place for panoramic view of Narvik.

The Sky Bar on the 16th floor is a must visit. I'd highly recommend a dinner in their restaurant next to the lobby too.

In addition being a excellent hotel itself, the location of the hotel is another big plus for anyone transit thru Narvik and needs to take a bus out. The hotel is only 5 min walk from the main bus terminal (walk straight to the roundabout, make a left towards amfi shopping center, the bus station is right next to the parking garage below the shopping center). We could see the bus station from our room (#1309)

we were staying in transit for the night. The location is bang in the centre.Clean rooms and done up nicely. The breakfast layout was good. Since it was the 26th everything was quite in the hotel as as the city centre.

Room Tip: choose a room on the higher floors to get a good view of the mountain.

This is a brand new hotel. And I was really disappointed!
The Rica chain usually have great hotels, awesome food and good service.

This time I got stuck in Narvik because of bed weather, and had lots of luggage after christmas vacation. First of there is two steps up to the reception, which cant be good for disabled persons. I was not offered any help with the luggage, and it was difficult to drag everything with me to the room because of doorsteps, doors that are hard to keep open and carpets in the hallway.

The second disappointment was the food in the skybar. The steak-sandwich was served overcooked and on old bread. I asked to get it changed, and the chicken salad was served with tomatoes that had been frozen, and tasteless feta and herb-butter. The waiter said she would take care of it - which meant a 10 % reduction in the price. Not very good service.
And at the breakfast, the selection of food was poor, and "warm" elements were cold.

The single room I had was good, spacious and clean.

We stayed in Narvik due to us flying out early the next day and having seen the hotel being completed earlier in the year we thought we must try on our next visit. We were not disappointed - the corridors leading to the rooms are a bit strange, but once inside the room - WOW! The room we stayed in was a Superior room. We had ample toiletries to use in the rather large bathroom (wet room) which is one of the best we have stayed in when in Scandinavia. The bed was large and extremely comfortable. Views are outstanding, especially from the bar on the 16th floor - that is a must! Our room had views of the ski slope and the surrounding mountains. The only issue we had was with the parking...it cost over £10 for us to leave the car overnight in the hotel car park. We did not have breakfast in the hotel but we did enjoy a breakfast plate made for us as we left early.
