“Best Air Museum, except the Smithsonian”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2012

This place is very impressive. You'll need at least 2 or 3 hours. It's divided into civil and military displays, equally interesting. Quite surprising, except that it is the national air museum; there isn't one in Oslo. You can get there on a city bus that leaves from near the waterfront in the center of town. It's best to ask a bus driver where to get it. Others I asked were clueless.

“Very good museum with many things to see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2012

This is a huge museum which is well worth a visit. Lots of different aircraft to see, a good coffee shop! and an aviation tower where you can watch the Bodo live runway from.

As to relive the history of Norway! Great exhibitions. It also has realistic flight simulators you should try!

“Up and close to a lot of classics”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2010

This museum is quite good. They display some rather seldon seen planes of which the U2-plane sticks out. The main thing with the museum is however how close up you can get to the displayed planes - almost all of the planes are displayed free on the ground and you can walk right up to them. Another feature is that they also spend 50% of the museum for civilian aviation - not only military.
A strange thing is how the display some of the objects: They are cut off!!! Only front part of the plane on some, no wings on another and so on. Taking credit for displaying a plane and the only showing 1/3 of it is to me somewhat strange. However, if in Bodo, this is a must see attraction.
