This casual restaurant is a great place for low key casual dining, especially outside. We never went inside as the weather was just right for eating in the large attractive garden.
We started with some good König Ludwig beers and a mouth watering carrot creme soup and ended with very tasty main dishes of goulash and potato noodles.
The restaurant was filled, mainly by young German speaking patrons, which we consider a plus.
Service was friendly and efficient.
Good beer, tasty food and an attractive but still casual atmosphere amid a vibrant neighborhood, just perfect for the tired traveller.

We were recommended to try out this restaurant because of it's good positioning, being in the Museums Quartier, close to the places we were visiting. The venue is not so bad, they seem to have a nice garden outside, but when we went there it was raining so we had our dinner indoors.

The waiter had some serious problems with understanding English, because I asked if the gulasch will be spicy, and she said not at all, and when we got our order it was very spicy. Then the other waiter dropped hot soup on my pants, a thing which never has happened beforeto me, I thought it only happens in movies.. The schnitzel was pretty old, looked as if it was reheated and sold as fresh.

My overall experience was not very good, so that's why I give it two stars, I would never probably try this restaurant again.

Tucked away down a flight of stairs this restaurant provides a great opportunity to experience local cuisine. The smoked bacon appetizer was buttery in texture (should to be taken with a side of Lipitor!) and was accompanied with a very spicy finely grated cabbage / slaw. The Beef Goulash was rich, dark and warming on a very cool and wet Viennese evening. All of this was washed down with a good local beer. The setting is warm, cozy and homely. If you want a “chi-chi” restaurant, go somewhere else. For good, solid local food then stop by Glacis Beisl

The Glacis Beisl is not very easy to find, because it is situated at the back of the Museums Quartier. Service is quite friendly, the atmosphere is great, under a vineyard, it's a real garden, really well located. To my sorrow the dinner was mediocre, fortunately the beer fine.

What a pity when restaurants depend only on their venue and ignore their food quality and service.
We went to this restaurant, near the museumsquartier to enjoy a dinner with friends who wanted to have authentic vienniese fare. The wiener schitzel they ordered was just a big portion....but otherwise tasteless with lots of oil almost dripping from the crust. Salad welk with no real marinade. The two other dishes we had schwammerl(mushroom) goulash and lamm sausages were served too cold. Service seemed under stress,
Recommend you go there early evening to enjoy drinks and enjoy the really nice garden...then have food somewhere else.
