Real Austrian food in a pleasant enough ambience and surrounded by locals. This is not fine dining, but it is good dining. Wonderful earthy soups for a cold evening - cream of potato with mushrooms - followed by tender and generous Wiener Schnitzel or filet of carp prepared the same way. A selection of beers and wines by the glass too, all decent value so you can afford to experiment with something local and unfamiliar. Cheerful service. You might need a menu decoder if you don't have a bit of German. Best to reserve.

Pleasant service, excellent food, not expensive; but you might need a dictionary to decipher the menu.

I ate here for lunch with my hosts in Vienna and it was a wonderful experience of traditional food in a great atmosphere. I ordered Tafelspitz which was delicious. After the main course we ordered a selection of deserts and enjoyed all the tastes of traditional austrian sweet dishes, including kumquats in a sweet sauce which were quite an experience. The service was great - all in all, a positive experience. For mid-week lunch-time, the restaurant was packed. Clearly a place where people book ahead.

I came here with a large party and it was an excellent experience. Great beers (home-brewed) and a good wine list. Food was excellent, very generous amounts and great value for money. Service was impeccable. Every one of us was very impressed with their food. Nice setting and a little off the tourist trail. Would highly recommend.

A original traditional cozy place, full of locals. We paid 61 Euros for a full dinner for two [including 2 startes, 2 main courses (1 Wiener schnizel and 1 Tafelspitz) 3 large glasses of beer and 2 traditional sweets (Apfelstrudel, etc.)] Very good dinner, quick and kind service, warm place (at 18:00 was already full of locals).
