Description: Cafe Sacher Vienna offers the perfect chance to sample a typical Viennese coffee-house atmosphere and - of course - to treat yourself to a slice of the legendary Original Sacher-Torte. The Cafe Sacher, directly opposite the Opera House, is a popular meeting place in the center of Vienna. The windows of the conservatory fold away in the summer to make an open terrace that is the perfect place to soak up the sights and sounds of the city.

You know you are going to go there but my advice is to order nice coffees but split a sacher torte. Not only is it expensive but it it dense, a bit dry and very sweet- love the whipped cream though.

Visited the birthplace of the famous Sacher Torte that one has heard so much about!! Could see how popular it was going by the long queue outside!! But luckily for us, we did not have to wait too long!!
The torte was divine and we loved it!! Will be back again!!

My first experience in Vienna - friendly staff and lovely setting. May need to queue a short time to get a table but worth the wait

I had Veal with rice. The rice was undercooked. I can taste the raw rice. We reported to the waiter, he offered to change it but we had to go for a concert so we did not have time to wait for another preparation. He could have offered a refund but did not.

We had planned to visit Cafe Sacher to have a Sacher-Torte and we were not disappointed. You will have to set your expectations since the dessert is known to be on the dry side and is always best served with whipped cream or ice cream (if you've made one at home, it is very good with ice cream). If you really want to splurge, order it with an iced coffee. Great decor and most enjoyable.
