“One of the best and authentic Thai restaurants!”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

When I was living in Vienna for many years, I regularly visit this wonderful Thai restaurant. Pinong is an authentic Thai restaurant in the 7th District, near to Neubaugasse, located at Seidengasse. Pinong is owned & run by a Thai family - hence the dishes are authentically Thai. In their extensive menu, the spicy dishes are labelled with the number of chillis to denote the level of spicyness or hotness. One chilli means spicy and 3 chillis (max.) means very spicy. However, the prices tend to be on the high side for the small portions served.

Opening hours: Mondays- Saturdays from 18.00 - 24.00 hrs; Sundays closed

Favorite Dish: My favorite is the Phad Thai Gung (fried rice noodles with prawns, eggs and peanuts) followed by Thai Fish Cake, Fish with spicy sauce, Tom Yam Gung (spicy seafood soup), Tom Kha Gai (chicken coconut soup with galangal), Chicken Green Curry and Beef Red Curry. There are other delicious food too; you will just have to go and try them.

Address: 1070 Wien, Seidengasse 2
Directions: Metro U3 Neubaugasse station, go to Neubaugasse and then Seidengasse

“totally worth a visit for Thai food”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

I regularly visit here. The place is easily one of the best and funniest Thai places I have been too. It is located in a "dead" area in the 7th district - all around is housing and it is always quiet and then you have this place just sitting there looking completely out of place. In summer you can sit outside on the street. Overall the food is really good - just be careful how hot you want it as they really are authentic when they spice it. What makes this place also outstanding is also the service - the staff are hilarious and super friendly and you never need to wait long.

“Authentic Thai Food in Vienna!”
Reviewed January 25, 2012

As a Thai, I am often disappointed with the so-called 'Thai food' outside of Thailand. However, Pinong is one of the best Thai restaurants I've ever tried. The place is decorated in a typically Thai way - works for a romantic dinner, as well as for family and friends. The price is reasonable. The location, however, might be a bit tricky to find. It's located in the middle of two metro stations and rather in a residential area. Check your map before you go. Reservation recommended, esp. during the weekends.

“excellent thai food in not so attractive restaurant”
Reviewed June 20, 2010

the outside seating is pretty grody, but it's crowded and cramped indoors. the food was served in big portions and tasted spicy and delicious, especially the tom yun gai soup.
