Neighborhood: Old University Quarter
Description: In the heart of Vienna’s Old Town lies the Heiligenkreuzerhof, which is the city’s most beautiful courtyard. Inside the restaurant, the present and the past joined an elegant symbiosis in vaulted rooms: long tables are waiting for the guests, who are cared for out of an especially designed kitchen.

Food is very good and innovative. You can order Tapas style dishes and that is like a tour of Austrian cuisine. The setting in a baroque courtyard is charming. Good service!

Went here on recommendation. Took a set menu of 3 courses. Waited 40 min for the starter, except one person who got his main course and had to eat alone. At this point we hadn't got to choose a wine(!) so we explicitly had to ask for the winelist to get it.

My fish was a bit under cooked and the desserts (again 40 min wait despite that they was obviously premade) didn't meet the standard (the crème brule tasted more like porrage and the sugar on top was not even melted). Also the desserts were quite big compared to the other courses (im glad i only took 2 pieces).

The decore was Nice, but they had no ac inside so it was very warm. I wouldn't go here again.

We enjoyed a great meal at Hollmann Salon while in Vienna recently. We sat outside on their very quiet and private patio, away from the (other) tourists (but still close enough to the main attractions to be accessible), and enjoyed delicious beef tartare, salad with goat cheese, and the best spaetzle we had all week in Austria. We were very happy to have found this little treasure of a restaurant and would recommend it to any visitors to Vienna.

Wonderful "secret tip" in Vienna! Located in a quiet "inner courtyard" in the First District, this culinary annex of the hotel "Hollmann BelEtage" (around the corner) offers a small, seasonal menu and regional wines in separate vaulted ceiling spaces (1 with a long "communal table") and an outdoor patio in summer. The menu focuses on "re-visited" Austrian traditional specialties and the small wine list on delicious wines from young (and not so young!) Austrian vintners! The highlight of the menu offering is a "Salon Bretl", which consists of a rustic wood tray featuring a selection of 3, 4 or 5 dishes, mini-versions of such tasty, rustic Austrian dishes as "Tafelspitz", "Knoedel", "Spaetzl", etc... A romantic atmosphere completes the picture of this casual-yet-sophisticated "gourmet destination" in Vienna! (N.B. As the courtyard is residential, the restaurant has to be empty by 10:30! So, reserve early to enjoy a relaxed dinner!)

This is located in a nice courtyard very near the hotel. The food is outstanding with very fresh local ingredients. I would recommend the eggs in a glass and the chive toast. But everything was great. The location outside was also very nice. The staff were super friendly but I must admit the service was pretty slow.
