“great coffee”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

the chairs and tables we had were very shaky. The Cafe was very dark but beautiful. It is right off the Graben so it's very busy. The Service was nice and the coffee very very good.

“Nice experience!”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

If you want to feel the atmosphere of an old, smoky Vienna cafe from the first half of the 20th century, Hawelka is the right place to visit. We found it by accident and although the coffee was rather expensive, we were very glad to be in Hawelka and experience its bohemian atmosphere.

“Surprising”

A hidden old cafe. We came in by mistake after seeing a lot of people going in and out. The ambiance is great, bohemian like we wereat the begining of the 20th century. We ate a very good apple cake, The waiter was very nice.

“The good old style, bad food and ugly service”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

The atmosphere was nostalgic alright, old-time, authentic, special – and here ends the positive part. Nearly rude service; lukewarm mid-low quality coffee; no resemblances of freshness of the food (I wonder what was the quality when it WAS fresh); the prices are equal to any respectable place (not necessarily Sacher or Demel, just ANY reasonable Cafe) - but since this place is far from being reasonable - it is rudely over priced, a rip-off.
Do go in, absorb the so fine atmosphere and get out. On second thought, you may take a deep breathe (or smoke), sit down, ignore the service and order something bottled.

“Awfull”
Reviewed April 10, 2013 via mobile

It was really very bad. The waiter was rude. Correct and chocolate wad bad. The prices are high. Waiter insisted on bringing a special dessert which wad more than 5 days old, heated in microwave and was like 5 small pieces of bread filled with chocolate and it coated 9 euros. Stay away. There a lot of better places in short range
