I stayed four nights in this Hotel and at the end of my stay did not wish to leave! My room was spotlessly clean and very well furnished with a huge superking size bed that was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. The bathroom and separate toilet were beautiful, everything you could wish for is provided, Breakfast was included in my rate of about £140 per night and was absolutely lovely. I ate breakfast both in the hotel retaurant, where friendly helpful staff and good range of choices and lovely surroundings, and also had breakfast brought to my room for which no extra charge was made. The in room breakfast was delivered on a trolley with crisp white linen cloths and napkinds and a beautiful flower vase, and the food was beautifully presented and delicious, and was far too much for one person. I felt really safe in the hotel and was given excellent advice and directions and information from the very helpful reception staff, who all spoke perfect english. I also used the spa and enjoyed a fabulous massage.
I ate dinner in the hotel on one occasion and again the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Each room has a nespresso machine so good coffee in your room is always available. Every single member of staff was helpful and courteous, I really cannot find a single fault with this Hotel, and despite all the luxury the 'casual' part of the hotel name really was true in that the staff were not stuffy or snooty. I also ate in several nearby restaurants as recommended by the reception staff all of which were good and reasonably priced. Very handy to have free internet access in the room which meant I could skype my son and not worry about running up a huge internet bill. I shouldn't finish without adding that Vienna was a most beautiful and interesting city with excellent transport options and the Hotel is ideally located to explore this wonderful city. I rarely want to return to a place once I have visited but I will definitely be returning to Vienna and will stay at the Ring Hotel.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms will be great in this Hotel

I've stayed at the Ring Hotel for three nights in August. The hotel is at the main street that surrounds the old city. Most of the best known hotels in Vienna (Sacher, Bristol, Grand) are located within a few hundred meters so the hotel is in good company. The main shopping area's, the Hofburg and other sights are easily within walking distance. The Karlsplatz subway station is also only 200m from the hotel, and there is a depot for the free Citybike-service right across the street.

During our stay the hotel seemed not very busy, we almost never saw other guests. Maybe the hotel is still relatively unknown since the city itself was quite crowded.
We had an X-Ordinary room on the 4th floor facing the street. The sound-proofing is very good because even at rush hour you can hardly hear the traffic.
The room itself was spacious with comfortable beds (we had a twin room) and a good bathroom with separate toilet. All amenities were as you would expect from a 5*-hotel. A big plus is the free WiFi: most hotels charge idiotic fees for WiFi-access. The Ring hotel has worked around this by providing a free, slower connection that is more than sufficient for checking your email, browsing and even Skype. If you need a faster connection you will be charged but for the leisure traveller the free option is good enough.

There is a nice bar with a huge selection of wodka and cocktails and nice staff. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, there is a Illy espressobar across the street that has a very decent menu for 6-8 Euro so there is really no good reason to spend three times that amount at the hotel, unless you want to enjoy in-room breakfast.

On average I paid 220 Euro per night excluding breakfast, which is reasonable considering the quality and location of the hotel. A drawback can be that In the end the whole experience felt a bit anonymous and boring. It's certainly a good hotel, but just not very special.

Dear 'danielkegel', great review, thank you so much. Good to read that we also receive guests from The Netherlands (I am Dutch myself). As to your comments, in August we normally see a lower occupancy hence we do have less guests at the hotel and the ones which stay with us are in general visiting the city of Vienna. I deeply appreciate the fact that you described the hotel, its location, the room type and the restaurant + bar that well, that is really helpful for future guests! Looking forward welcoming you again@The Ring, Vienna's Casual Luxury Hotel, I remain, groetjes uit Wenen

The location of the Ring Hotel is excellent - a few 100 m from the Sacher cafe and the metro. Hotel personal were helpful and very friendly as was the service. We stayed in the X-traordinary room which was very specious, and very comfortable. The decor was nothing exceptional, but having an expresso machine was a plus. The mattress was supper comfortable - it made all the difference of being away from home. I did not really dislike anything in particular.....
As we were there for a long weekend, we did not use the fitness centre and did not opt for breakfast either - which was a good thing. We loved Vienna's cafe culture... visiting different cafes each morning for breakfast

Room Tip: Although our room gave to the main street - the double glazing of the windows shielded any noise fro...

My husband and I stayed at The Ring last year. The room was enormous (even by American standards), the service impeccable and the location on the Ringstrasse was perfect. Using the in-room Nespresso machine each morning for a cup of espresso was wonderful. I highly recommend The Ring. I cannot wait to stay there again.

Stayed for a few days in July... the location was excellent for seeing the big sights and there are lots of great food and drink options within walking distance. The room itself was modern and had everything we needed. One minor complaint would be that the room is on the small side, but even with four suitcases it was manageable. Would certainly stay here again.

Deart 'Drupelet', thank you so much for your great review, much appreciated. The location is indeed a very good one, you can reach the majority of the sightseeing highlights in Vienna within walking distance. As to your room, we do have some smaller rooms but you can choose between 3 different room categories, the category Special and X-Ordinary are large and should fit perfectly when travelling with a lot of luggage. Looking forward welcoming you again in the near future, best regards from Vienna!

Having been to Vienna previously and stayed at Le Meridien we wanted something a little more authentic. The Ring was just the thing. It has an excellent location on the Ringstrasse near the opera house and Hofburg and feels more like a European hotel as opposed to a trendy NY hotel. We had breakfast in the restaurant each morning and visited the bar one evening. Service was always very friendly and efficient. The front desk staff were helpful with directions, etc. With its great central location we could walk to the Hofburg, museums, shopping district and excellent cafes. We'll stay here again when in Vienna.

Room Tip: Reserve a room facing the Ringstrasse - they are larger but still quiet

Modern, boutique hotel with great location near the pedestrian areas. Friendly staff. Small hotel and each room is different so if you are particular, you may have some issues. For example, there were no non-smoking rooms available when we checked in (we should have requested in advance). The air-conditioning in one of the rooms wasn't working properly - it was not ideal but they tried to help by giving us another room to sleep in

Dear 'max_d1', thank you for your review with regards to your stay@The Ring, we are happy to read that you liked the hotel and the location. The Ring is indeed small, it offers only 68 rooms and suites and due to the fact that it used to be a bank the rooms do differ in size. In general our guests do ask for a smoking or non-smoking room when making the reservation, we do have plenty of smoking rooms but these are required a lot....I do apologize for the inconveniences as to the airconditioning, we had some smaller issues here which are now solved. I would be delighted to welcome you back@The Ring in the very near future! Best regards from Vienna
