“Read if you are non-smoking”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

First:the hotel is non-smokig area since this summer, after some renovations which aren"t ended so the bar is closed and the restaurant is open only for breakfast(i left on 1 sept.)Not big trouble.About breakfast:it begins at 6,30,is really very good, and the cofee is excellent(press Mocca).About the room:the best room i had in Vienna, and i slept in about 8-9 4 stars hotels.Maybe I was lucky with my 502,i dont know.About location:on a dead-end street,in a park with trees,a little terace, very quiet. The U6 station on Wahringer strasse a bit far(therefor a half star is gone)but the tram D in Bauernfeldplatz is just 3 min. and it takes you just at Oper.About the front desk, very polite and helpfull, but the another half star is lost by them, because I call a day before my check-in,(NOTE:the site which made the booking,Hotels.com,send me an e-mail 3 days before my trip saying every is ok no call needed)asked if my twin,SMOKERS,room booked in february is ok and the answer was yes. However,if you are nonsmokers,go there but book early(I"ve booked in february 3 nights with 230 eur and at 1 august was 570).

Room Tip: rooms with view over the park.

A clean hotel set in a quiet area and in a great location. Staff are very friendly, helpful and professional, who speak well in English. Tram, metro and bus connections are easily accessible with Tram D which stops very near to hotel. Although we arrived earlier than check-in time we were given our room and we were given the opportunity to keep our room for 2 hours more than check-out time. Buffet breakfast included cereals, fruit, cold cuts, different cheeses, bread, pastries, various fruit juices, teas and coffees. Room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. TV was large LCD. It was a heat wave when we were in Vienna but the airconditioner worked perfectly and it was very refreshing to be in the room after going around the city in the heat of the day. Wi-fi was a bit slow but there was no additional charge for it. A disappointment was that the hotel's bar was closed as it was being renovated.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the garden are quiet.

Clean, friendly, and with a great, full buffet breakfast, this hotel was perfect for business travel. Within easy walk of the trams, and close to the U, we also found it easy to get to the government and tourist sights, the canal.

My favorite room item was the bedding, with thick comforters, not like I'd seen in the USA.

Hotel is two blocks from the US embassy, and just a bit further to excellent restaurants.

This hotel is in a great location near the D line which can get you to Opera House within 5-10 minutes. The staff was very professional and helpful. They spoke both English and German. By US standards the room is small however by European standards it is normal. The bathroom was spacious and the room was very clean. Excellent breakfast which was included. Internet was a bit slow but there was no additional charge for it. I would stay there again if in Vienna.

We travelled as a family of 2 toddlers and 2 adults. We booked, and pre-ordered a 3rd bed for child and crib for toddler. On arrival all was set and we were impressed. Bathroom is spacey and clean, and pleasant. WC is separate, which is rare for hotels and is good.

Room quite, if windows are opened you hear only birds, no cars.

Best thing of all was the breakfast! Not diverse, the same each day, but very tasty and quality thing. Fresh juice (about 5-7 types to choose from), great coffee (machine), tea (many to choose from), fresh fruit for salad, and outstanding pastry (about 6 types to choose from). The view was very nice from the Restaurant.

We found all that great for a relatively low price.

We did all trips by taxi so do not opine on proximity to bus/tram/underground.

Will visit again!

Room Tip: Tell them your wishes when you book. Ours wishes were met.

The first impression of the hotel is downright depressing. No lobby to speak of, dreary lighting, and unhelpful staff. The receptionist was so uninformed as to tell us the metro was too far to walk to. She then proceeded to give us complicated directions to the center when all we had to do was walk out the back entrance turn left and we were on a main artery downtown. It took less than a half hour. The room was awful: filthy carpet, walls with black scuff marks and dirty finger prints on the bathroom door. It was cheap though and I'm sure that's the reason it has received some good reviews and it takes a lot of walking to get to the major sights even though it is doable.

Stayed for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. All of the staff were extremely helpful and very friendly making our stay a joy. The room was spotless and the hotel made a really good base for exploring the city. Transport links are excellent and we made full use of the Vienna card to travel around. The card also gave us useful discounts on entry to lots of places so we felt it was a very good investment. The CAT made travelling into the city so much easier and it was really helpful to be able to drop our bags at the CAT station for them to deliver to the airport.

Room Tip: A room in the palais at the rear might be a little quieter. We enjoyed staying in a sixth florr room...
