“Figlmuller - Nice wiener schnitzel lunch”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

Stopped at this famous restaurant for Wiener Schnitzel lunch during our recent trip to Vienna and were happy with our meal.

Arrived just after their opening, around 12.15pm and were seated right away. Restaurant filled up quite a bit during our lunch. Liked the inside restaurant layout, lots of table sections plenty of space. Staff were efficient yet friendly. Drinks and meals were served quickly after order made.

Ordered the Wiener Schnitzel (19.50 Euro) that was a nice meal. Veal was thin, soft and tender and the breading was crispy, light and tasted nice. Squeeze of lemon made this a nice schnitzel (rating 3.5 of 5). Side of Potato w/ parsley (2.80 Euro) that was lightly oiled, perfectly made (rating 3.5 of 5) complimented the schnitzel well. House Potato Soup (4.70 Euro) was good, nicely flavoured, tasted like a nice home-cooked bowl. (Rating 3 of 5)

Overall, a pretty good lunch, would have no problem returning here for another lunch. Restaurant is not too difficult to find, there are signs pointing the way once you get near, only 3-4 minutes walk from St. Stephensplatz and St. Stephens Cathedral.

“Greatest schinitzel ever”
Reviewed March 23, 2013 via mobile

I've been here the first time and i loved it! I loved the schinitzel! It's so tasty an the potatoe salad is also great!!! The obly thing i didn't really liked was the bathroom that was outside ( in the summer it's ok but if it's cold outside is not that great) and the waiting at the entrance! All in all i really recomand this schinitzel!:)

“Pretty good food, nice ambience”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

The food was perfectly fine Viennese fare, although we laughingly had to admit we just don't get the appeal of the schnitzel, a pounded, breaded, fried pork slice the size of a competition frisbee. The ambience is appealing, though, and the staff was gracious and friendly. The calves liver was very good. We ate at the Wollzeile location (the original), which is characterized by warm, dark wood, cozy booths, brass fixtures a la mode of old Vienna -- old-fashioned without being fusty or kitschy. You definitely need a reservation as it's very busy -- it's easy to book using the restaurant's online reservation tool. Be forewarned: wine only (no beer or spirits, if that's important to you.) Although it wasn't our best meal in Austria, it was worth doing.

“Nice, reasonable but busy”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

Ate here after reading it was "THE" place for wiener schnitzel in Vienna. Nice cosy restaurantt in the city centre. Friendly staff. Food was very tasty and was reasonable. Only downside is that it is a very busy spot with limited number of tables so I don't think "lingering" would be appreciated. However think it is a tradition and is worth a visit.
