Went with modest expectations however the service was attentive but not intrusive, the lobster bisque was equal best to that had 20 years ago. My wife's king prawns were large and tasty, and my house special mixed special of 3 fish and a king prawn were perfectly grilled without a hint of dryness. The ambiance was good and I enjoyed being able to watch the chiefs. All in all good value for money and perfect when you have trialled all the traditional dishes and are looking for international quality

This is a must-stop if you live in a land-locked country, as I do, and crave fresh seafood. All produce is visible to customers, as is the food preparation. Service is almost always slick. The quality of the seafood is sensational and the team of chefs always seems able to deliver perfect meals. The downside is that this restaurant is not cheap - given my craving for great seafood meals, however, it is a price I am prepared to pay on each trip to Vienna.

We have been many times to Kervansaray and have never been disappointed. The restaurant is plush and comfortable without being over formal. If you wish you can watch your fish being cooked as the three chefs whizz slickly about behind the counter with its extensive display of fish and lobster. If you prefer, you can sit further down the room and relax in a cosy corner. If the restaurant isn't full, they will cook to your request as well as from the menu. Try their Lobster bisque, rich and full flavoured with morsels of lobster in its depths. Follow this with the 'Skipper', mixed fish including turbot in lemon butter sauce. Finish with a chocolate souffle, light and fluffy. You can watch it being prepared at the dessert counter which is stacked high with fresh fruit. Local wines are worth trying, Service is smooth without being fussy. Prices are good value for a good restaurant in a capital city. Meat dishes are also available. You can book on line, which is a good idea at weekends anfd holidays.

The atmosphere here is very nice- quaint and romantic.

A quiet place with a mixed crowd of young to more mature, staff is very polite and attentive, and the food was very good.

Had soups for starters which were excellent, and from mains we all went for fish which was perfectly cooked. between us we had monkfish, prawns, scallops, turbot- and all of them were great (turbot slightly overdone).

The only other place that does fish so well is Scott’s in London.

However the pasta with pepper sauce that accompanied my monkfish was tasteless.

Recommended- the best place for fish I have tried in Austria and one of the best I have generally been to in any country I visited!
