Austria Trend Hotel Savoyen Vienna

I got bumped to this hotel when my reservation at Anatol fell through. I made my reservation on booking.com. When i arrived at Anatol, they informed me my room was not available but they were upgrading me to Savoyen. I gladly accepted the upgrade although Savoyen is slightly out of the center. The hotel itself is modern, clean and fairly upscale. I did not get a chance to try out the fitness/sauna area as i was only there for one night. I would recommend this hotel as the rooms were luxirious (included bath robe and slippers). The breakfast was really good and contained a ton of options. The drawbacks with this hotel were ..... no wireless (or wired internet) in the rooms. This was a pain. The location is off the beaten path so you need to be prepared to use transit or cabs to get around should you not have a car. All in all a good solid experience.

Aaron

Room Tip: 6th floor worked fine for me!

We stayed over the weekend (with our toddler). Perfect location even though not in the immediate center of town - a short 15 minute walk and you are there. Right next to beatiful Belvedere park and castle.
The room (suite) was a bargain - huge, beautifully decorated, clean, elegant room, complimentary champagne and snacks on arrival, free breakfast. The suite had two flatscreen tvs.
Will definitely return!

Room Tip: The suites are fantastic (Rm 630 in particular)

It is a really good option if you are in a Business Trip. The room is really big and well decorated, the staff was extremely friend at the reception, cleaning staff and at the restaurant. The breakfast was good, with many types of fresh fruits. The location is good and I had a really nice view from the city from the 6th floor. The bedroom acustic was perfect. I really reccomend this one for Business Travellers.

This was my second stay at this hotel. The standard was better couple of years ago. Though, I still consider it good value for money.

Cautionary tip: leave no money or valuables in your hotel room unlocked. The hotel itself was lovely; breakfasts excellent, and I first valued this as one of the best hotels - until I was robbed of American cash. High probability that one of the cleaning staff stole. I did not find the hotel staff helpful. Instead we went through a kind of administrative dance with no consequence.

Though not in the (touristic) center of town, this hotel is beautifully located near the Belvedere Gardens. It's in a historic building that once housed the state printing office, but has been totally modernized except for the facade. The room was very well furnished, the bed was comfortable, there was ample space to stash clothing, the bath was modern, with upscale toiletries, breakfast was elegant, abundant and delicious. It's near public transit, so easy to get places, and well situated for walking too. (the above mentioned Belvedere gardens, for example.) There is wifi in the lobby, as well as a banc of several computers that guests can use, and if you have an ethernet cord, you may be able to have access in the room as well. This was a very pleasant stay for travelers who do not speak German. The staff is very helpful and the entire setting is very welcoming. In addition to public transit, there's a supermarket less than a block away, for those who like to buy their late night or early morning snacks or just see what there is locally.
