My husband and I took the Grape Grazing bike tour on 8/27/14. Our tour guide Adam was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the area, and his love for sharing this special part of Austria with others is his passion. The whole tour including a hand prepared lunch in the home of a local resident winemaker was very thoughtful and personal. Stunning views are a constant during the excursion and the trip was highlighted by the great company we shared the day with.

Wow! This grape grazing tour was worth its weight in gold. Adam is delightful, insightful and knows how to ensure your time is well spent. This is NOT an event designed to spit you in & out. Plan on an entire day of adventure, in an intimate, small group setting. If you're fatigued of tourist sights jam packed with too many people, then this day spent out of town is just for you. There are interesting and fascinating stops along the way. Your first stop, in a little town known for apricots, forgo the apricot soda and opt for the apricot nectar, it's much more satisfying. If you have a relatively good fitness status you can make it up to the castle ruins in 7-8 minutes (the sign says 20 min). Lastly, swim in the Danube! You'll arrive at a public park area, don't swim here, why? Facing the river, turn left and start walking the shoreline for about 5-minutes, you'll arrive at a very small lagoon, take off your clothes and jump in! The temperature is pleasant and the water refreshing, it's not very deep, there's not much current, and I had all the privacy I needed. There's so much more, I'd do it again and I highly recommend this for you! Cheers, ~Deanna.

I thoroughly enjoyed my wine tasting tour with Discover Vienna. It was a well organised, relaxing and tasted day out in the Austrian countryside. Perfect for those passing through Vienna and who want to experience the Austrian country side. Highlight: the homely barbecue lunch.

Great tour, we were only in Vienna for 1 night and this was by far the best way to not only see Vienna but learn about its history as well and afterwards a beer & schnitzel to top off the night.

We had a great wine tasting tour with Hannes. This is a really interesting way to spend a day - a combination of beautiful scenery in the Wachau Valley, information about the rich history of the region, a delicious barbecue, interesting wine tasting, and some really good exercise. There is quite a bit of cycling - 26 km - but the route was relatively flat and the pace was quite reasonable. Hannes was very attentive in answering questions, and making sure that everyone stayed on the right route and handled road crossings safely. Most of the route was on dedicated bike paths through the vineyards, so very pleasant. In the morning there is a stop at Dürnstein and a hike up to the ruins of the castle. It's a bit of work getting to the top, but the payoff is an amazing view of the Danube valley for miles in either direction. Our only suggestion for improvement is that it would be better if the wine tasting stops could be a bit further apart, but that's a minor point. Overall a very enjoyable day!
