Clean ,compact and cost effective accommodation with comfortable access to transportation.

But would be better if they offer breakfast as part of the room tarrif.

The reception staff are really helpful in advicing you on local tours and day trips to places like Budapest.

Within walking distance of the Schonbrunn Palace and excellent outdoor restaurant. Also near the U-Bahn station so access to the entire city is quite easy. Staff was extremely helpful and all spoke English well.

Room Tip: High traffic but little noise. Don't expect a bathtub but showers were excellent.

My wife and I stayed at Courtyard by Marriott Vienna Schoenbrunn during June. Vienna was our second stop during our 3-city Eastern European trip. We took the Euro rail from Prague (where we started our trip) and arrived at the Wien Meidling station in Vienna. We took a cab from there to the hotel, which cost about 14 euros.

The front desk staff was great. Our check-in was easy and as a Marriott Rewards member, the continental buffet breakfast was included during our stay. During our entire stay, the front desk staff was very helpful with directions and recommendations. Not all of them spoke English well, but they all tried to help.

We had a standard room with a king-size bed on the 4th floor, facing behind the hotel. We found the room very quiet, the A/C worked fine, a tub in the bathroom and the bed was very comfortable. The free Wi-Fi was only available in the lobby area, which was fine with us. A mini market next to the front desk offered basic needs, such as water, snacks, toothpaste, etc.

The buffet breakfast was good, too. There were variety of choices and it was never crowded (at least during our stay). As many of the reviewers mentioned, the subway train is only a block away, which made it convenient for our exploration of the city. Be sure to pick up a "Vienna Card" at the front desk (21,90 euros per card). This card provides you with 72-hour access to public transportations and discounts at most of the tourist attractions.

Of course, the hotel is right next to the Schoenbrunn Palace. It's a walking distance and we visited the Palace in the morning to beat the traffic (a lot of tour buses were already arriving). The Palace is a must visit in my opinion. There are several cafes in the Palace, but the best one with a great view is Cafe Gloriette in the garden pavilion.

I also recommend visiting the Kunst Historisches Museum Wien. I really wish I had more time to spend in this museum. It has an amazing collection! Please check its website.

One night, we caught the opera at the Vienna State Opera. We asked the front desk to call us a cab. It cost about 14 euros to the Opera house. We also took the cab back after the opera.

The City Center is also a short train ride away. Besides the typical tourist attractions, we discovered great restaurants and cafes. Try the following: Mini (a little away from the touristy area, but well worth it!); Cafe Demel (where you can watch the pâtissiers making all of the delicious pastries + this is a great place to pick up gifts for friends and family); Cafe Diglas (great food for great price, especially if you're getting tired of the breakfast buffet at the hotel); and our favorite place - Loca (this place is a 5-star restaurant, served by the chef and owner). Be sure to make a reservation. We got lucky and was able to get a table (a good thing we arrived early). We wish Loca would open a branch in Los Angeles!!

I read good things about Cafe Central, but I can't say I agree. Both my wife and I didn't find the food to be very good, including pastries. And we didn't find the waiters to be too friendly. I would skip Cafe Central.

Overall, our stay was great and recommend Courtyard by Marriott Vienna Schoenbrunn!

As stated in other reviews, this hotel is just across the street from Schonbrunn. Although not in the city center, it's right next to a U-Bahn station, so getting downtown was very easy. The front desk staff was an absolute delight. There is also a laundromat just two blocks down the street, and a grocery store only a block from the hotel. We picked up a few items for breakfast each morning because the hotel breakfast is a little bit expensive (when you have three children).

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is centrally located to the Palace and easy to metro downtown with low costs for subway on the honor system! Regulated AC units in rooms; breakfast too expensive; staff very helpful. Will choose other property next time!

Room Tip: Back of hotel quiet rooms. We got outside room facing the street and the AC didn't get cool no...

This was my first ever trip to Vienna, so I was unsure where to stay...but this hotel was exactly right for me. It is a couple of stops out from the city centre on the metro, but on the plus side, you have the beautiful palace gardens to walk around every day.
The bar staff were particularly helpful and friendly...sadly the front desk staff seemed a bit clueless and slow.
The room was clean and well equipped. The breakfast was pretty good. The surrounding area is quiet and very safe.
