“Best sight to visit in Vienna”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

Oh my, this place is really the best in Vienna. Forget Schönbrunn (ok, not really)! The actual graves of all the Austrian-Hungarian royals are insanely beautiful, well crafted and... simply amazing. Be prepared for dramatic tombs and lots of skulls. If you're a historian like me, or a history buff in general, please make sure not to skip this place.

“Good to a reasonable price”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

Seeing the enormous sarcophagus of the Habsburgers is something else for sure. Well worth the low entrance price. All the information is in German so if you can't read it you should probably consider buying a tour book.

“Very interesting”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

This is a very interesting place to visit.
I would suggest this is more of a grown up thing to do as children might get bored looking at all the old coffins etc.
Unfortunately, the display information is only in German so you might want to get a brochure or something like that at the reception.

“If you are into BIG caskets....”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

If you do the Schonbrunn Palace first...you can then get a feel for why such ornate caskets. The Palace is a bit over the top as are the caskets.

If you are going to go see the Imperial Jewels ...they are all in the same area.

“Interesting Burials”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

I'm not sure that everyone would enjoy the crypt... I did, however. Being a history buff - I enjoyed seeing the names of people I've read and studied.... a great many of the great players on the Habsburg stage are entombed here..
The elaborate (and huge) tomb of Maria Theresa compared to the plain simple box of the Empress Zita...
Definitely worth a stop for the history buff... not much in English, so if you don't know the people - it might not make much sense... and there is no audio tour.
