Our stay at Das Tyrol was wonderful ! This hotel is a gem!
Our room ( junior suite) was lovely and spacious. The bathroom was very well appointed and the heated towel racks were a nice touch Housekeeping in addition to keeping our room spotless, anticipated needs ( eg spare box of kleenex when there was a possibility of running out). A huge plus was there were lots of plugs to recharge "stuff". Internet access was straight forward and the WiFi was very robust.
The location is great, easy waling distance to the major attractions, the metro is close and lots of shopping and restaurants near by.
Breakfast was excellent with a great variety of hot and cold for any taste.
The staff, particularly the front desk staff couldn't have been more helpful.
We chose this hotel partly because of the reviews on this site. We wondered if it was a little too good to be true. In this case not at all. It is everything everyone says it is.
Great value, great experience !

We had a thoroughly enjoyable four nights in this small personal hotel, at a good location not far from the city centre. We had excellent instructions by Bettina on how to reach the hotel via train, having arrived from Ljubljana, and this was easy. On our return to the station, we walked the distance and it took about 20 minutes, so was also quite easy.
We were greeted by David, a very pleasant young man who also gave us recommendations on nearby restaurants. Our room was on the Donald Duck floor, the artwork was great here. Our room was on the corner so we had sun coming in from two angles. The room was large with a very good sized bathroom, our own Nespresso machine and two very comfortable leather chairs, if you had time to sit....We were able to enjoy some time in the spa and sauna area which has to be seen to be believed, gold, red and black coloured tiles, together with a small aquarium. The whole hotel has been very professionally decorated, I loved the quirky glassware in the breakfast room and on the stairs. Our breakfasts, well what else would you expect in this super hotel, perfect food, fresh fruit, yoghurts, breads etc etc. and such obliging staff and of course Prosecco, which we enjoyed on our last morning. Bettina organised concert tickets for us at Musikverein one evening which we also enjoyed. We also spent one day travelling to Melk Abbey and a river cruise up the River Danube. This was a very long day but the Abbey was fantastic, both inside and outside. We had a good guide, Barbara who shared her enthusiasm for this place with us, particularly the library. Our meals at Boheme and Glacis Beisl were excellent.
Thanks Bettina and David.

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and I cannot speak better of it. Great location, best service I have ever had at a hotel, lovely rooms, excellent spa facility, not the mention the breakfast.

Just got back from a stay at this hotel and cannot speak more highly of it. Great location (especially near the gay area), shopping, subway, museums, everything close by. Extremely clean and the room was perfect. nice size, all the ammenities you would need, quiet and comfortable bed. Only complaint we had was the breakfast but the last day we realized they also cooked to order to scratch that complaint. Staff was very friendly and helpful as well.

Das Tyrol is perfectly situated for a long weekend in Vienna on the edge of the city's museum quarter, a pleasant (15 minute) stroll from the city centre through the gardens of the Hofburg palace. The hotel does not have a bar or restaurant but there are plenty nearby (try the Glacis Beisl for great hearty Austrian food, just a few minutes' walk away.).

The rooms are a good size for a capital city hotel, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Breakfasts are good with a fine selection of cereals, cold buffet, pastries and eggs cooked to order - and the sparkling wine was a nice touch. Staff are very pleasant and hardworking.

I'd be happy to recommend this hotel - the only thing it fell down on for me was the decor, which to my eye looks like a traditionally furnished and decorated hotel which has been somewhat hastily transformed into a 'boutique' by cramming it with oversized modern canvasses and abstract ceramics. Aesthetics are such a personal thing, but for me it makes more sense to be one or the other - this kind of fusion doesn't really work. But, each to their own. We had a great time and can't wait to return to Vienna to see all the bits we didn't get time for (four nights is not enough!).

Room Tip: We had a corner room at the rear of the hotel (not one with the balconies) which was very, very quie...

I can't say enough about this lovely hotel. A perfect location. A few blocks from the museum quarter. The staff cannot do enough for you, especially Antoneia at breakast which is overwhelming in its choices, Reinhart and Beitina, desk clerks, who gave great advice and much helpful information. The room was charming. Housekeeping was faultless. The hotel itself is an art gallery. If I am lucky enough to visit Vienna again, I would not stay at any other hotel.

I viseted this small hotel first time seven years ago and was at that time very impressed. Since that I have stayed at Das Tyrol six more times and the hotel has become even better. The location is perfect. Mariahilfer Strasse is number one shopping street in Vienna and Das Tyrol is at the beginning of this street. The "Museum Quarter" (worth at least one visit) is just opposit to the hotel and it is just a 15 minutes walk to the absolute city centre. Das Tyrol itself is almost like a modern art gallery with a lot of interesting pieces of art all around. Everything chosen and placed with very good taste. The rooms are fine, the bathrooms have everything you need and are very tidy. The breakfast is one of the better you can have and the staff polite and friendly. Anything else? Yes, if you stay at the hotel, although you have your own nice bathroom, do visit the toilets in the basement. You will be surprised. Positively.

Room Tip: If you can affort a small additional cost, do reserve a room in the class they call "studio&quo...
