The Cafe Resto Sarasines is a very nice and special place in one of Viennas most urban and nice areas between the 8th and the 9th district, close to the old hospital.
It is not mainstream or avant-garde, it more feels like a second living room. You can come with some friends and chill out here the whole day, or stay for a quick coffee. Feels like at home somehow :-)
The food is amazing, very well prepared with fine ingredients.
In the morning you have some breakfast variations with omelette or croque monsieur or madame.
During the day there is a wide selection of sarasines, a special kind of crepes, stuffed with best food like beef, or bacon and raclette, spinach, salad etc. - fantastic!
And in the evening, you can get a big selection of the best wines from france plus amazing tapas-like petit snacks, wow!
Primary language is french here, in the middle of Vienna :-) but still you can get what you want in english and german as well.
The concept in general is very strictly and deeply french and not just pretence, with an overwhelming and incomparable creativity and sympathetic modesty.
That is why I, as a viennesse, always feel like on holidays in Paris here.
To summarize, the location is very special - the food is really amazing and prices are fair.
The best thing is, that even tough it is one of the nicest places to relax in the inner districts on Vienna, not a lot of people know of Sarasines by now (this will definitely change sooner or later), so you always can get a seat, have a chat or read something.
After visiting Sarasines, most of viennesse small restaurants/coffeeshops seem boring and uncreative in comparison, just visit it and you will see! :-)
