The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna

Location - on the Ringstrasse tram way, next to the Stadt Park. Easy walk to old town, by the No.2 Tram stop.

Room - The hotel is so new in a historic ex-bank building. Beautiful architecture, motion sensor lighting in the elevator foyer and floor foyer. Our room has no view, fairly good size. good size walk-in closet with iron & ironing board. Nice bath amenities. very upset no newspaper and turn down service in a Ritz. Nightly turn down should be standard.

I was astounded to find empty teabag wraps (not just one) in the teachest, Some guest might prank, and housekeeping staff are not checking closely. I called housekeeping and told them this is unacceptable by Ritz Carlton standard. With a Nepresso machine, I would hope there is a UHT milk carton in the fridge rather than powder creamer.

Service: Staff looks professional in someway cool or snorbish. That's ok They are rather friendly. But Concierge is stern yet not very informational . At arrival We were shocked as our car pulled in to main entrance yet NO trace of bell staff!!! I had to walk in to the reception to request service, yet this is another major flaw. On our check out, Front desk staff Philip V. was very helpful arranging bell staff to haul our bags to Imperial hotel which is the next block too close for a taxi ride. Very kind front and bell staff. I heartfelt tipped the bell boy.

F&B: The hotel is rather quiet except at times some Chinese were lounging and talking loudly at the front lobby lounge. Breakfast spread is good at the ground floor lobby lounge.
The 7th floor roof top bar offers a panoramic view of Vienna, yet it closes at 9pm was a bit early in summer time.

Didn't try out the Gym since Vienna has so much to offer.
We will return to Ritz while hoping the minor flaw could be improved.

We have stayed at the best around the world, and this is now one of my favorite stays of all time in any city. The room was fantastic, the service was exceptional, the hotel is quite perfectly maintained to the last detail granted it is quite new. Upon arrival we were escorted with a brief description and history of the palace, to a corner suite on the third floor. The room is spacious with a magnificent bathroom, all cool marble floors and walls with chrome fixtures. A big bath tub with a completely separate wc with its own sink, large separate shower and whats cool is that it has an invisible drain system. Great design in furnishings and natural dark woods and a great walk in closet with a big safe.
The breakfast buffet is resort like, with especially good pastries and honey off the honeycomb.
The swimming pool is all stainless steel and has a bubble lounge that is turned on if you go near it. The spa is ah so nice, it had to be, Vienna has an affinity to spas. And so do I. The live Jazz bar and the very cool restaurant were great.

Room Tip: A corner room will give you great views.

Spent 4 glorious days in Vienna made more memorable by the perfect stay at the Ritz Carlton. The service was impeccable. The room was incredibly quiet and sleeping was a pleasure. We endured a very unusual heat wave and the room was on the top floor so the air conditioning was working hard, but somewhat in effectively. So I asked the club concierge for help and they managed to get the hotel engineer to lower the temperature of the thermostat. Very cool. By the end of the stay we were greeted by name and welcomed back every evening. The hotel is not inexpensive but it is is new, technologically advanced, and a great place to stay.

Room Tip: If you get a room on the top floor leave your room darkened to keep the temperature more comfortable...

Our stay at the Ritz Carlton Vienna was excellent. The service was superior and everyone from house keeping to the concierge was over the top courteous and helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We were celebrating our anniversary and the hotel provided some extra’s that made the time very memorable. The Chocolatier in the afternoon was an excellent touch (its expensive but worth it!).

Room Tip: Two things to clarify at check in. First, if you request a balcony and want to use it for enjoying...

Great location, good food, fine hotel, good beds the ritz Carlton is a fine place to stay, but 9 euros for a 750 ml bottle of room temperature water that was placed on our table was a little over the top.
But a good hotel overall

We found the Ritz to be convenient, immaculate, and exceedingly comfortable. Both the food and staff are excellent. When we encountered a minor housekeeping issue the assistant director of housekeeping responded immediately and the matter was resolved by several members of staff within minutes.

Kudos for great customer service.

The Ritz Carlton is one of the newer hotels in Vienna. It takes the site of a former major building--a palace I think. It definetly feels much fresher and newer than the other hotels across the road. The lobby and rooms are beautifully decorated in a modern furnishing--all with modern amenities.

The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are really spacious--complete with two hand-wash basins, W/C, shower, and bathtub. We had the honor of staying in the back view which still povided an excellent view of Vienna and its classic architecture. The rooms had a long entrace hallway, large king bed, beautiful desk, as well as small balcony. The weather was wet and cold; otherwise we would've stayed out more often!

The SPA was excellent--compelte with a good-sized swimming pool, with underwater music!

The Staff--where can I start--they are the friendliest hotel staff in Austria. They attend to your every need whenever and whereever you need it. As soon as you enter the breakfast hall, they approach you and ask if you need the same breakfast as yesterday. Yes, they remember what each person ordered and when!

"Sir, you would like warm French Toast with maple syrup and extra-hot latte today as well?"
"Yes, maam. That would be great. thanks!"

The Concierge was happy to arrange tours outside Vienna; however on our days we requested, the Danube was flooded and tours were cancelled. We found a note underneath the door with an apology about the cancelled tour.

The hotel is closer to the Kurtner and Grabe (shopping district), museum districts, and other Viennese attractions than the Radisson SAS and Marriott, which gives this hotel an additional bonus.

I will most definetly stay in this hotel again--if not for the lovely and spacious rooms, for the outstanding service. I wish Trip Advisor would bump this hotel for the number one spot in Vienna.

Room Tip: All rooms are great!
