“Good Austrian Food and Wines”
Review of Dom Beisl - CLOSED

Dom Beisl
Cuisines: Austrian, French, Mediterranean

Restaurant details
Good for: Local cuisine
Dining options: Late Night, Reservations
Neighborhood: Inner City
Description: The focus is entirely on Austrian products, which chef Thomas Wohlfarter combines in his dishes: Viennese classics and those that simply "reveal" themselves, because they awaken in Thomas Wohlfarter the desire to make them into something very special. And when also the wine is really good, sommelier Hermann Botolen´s heart is warmed. Then his eyes light up and his enthusiasm carries over to the guests. Then one can only advise: "Order this wine!" The guest will be happy.

I liked the selection of Austrian Wines. Additionally, they served them by the glass, a very interesting option when you travel alone. Austrian Food specialities were nicely presented and the Wiener Schnitzel (19 Eur) was huge. The personnel was nice and suggestive, however, the one acting as Maitre, was too arrogant and distant

Dear Sir,

thank you for your positive comment about the wines, the food and the staff. About me (the maître) is just to say, that it surely wasn´t my intention to behave arrogant, and i want to apologise for that.
In the future time i will take care more, not to be interpretated as arrogant.
Thank you for the feedback.

Best regards from Vienna

We got to this restaurant by mistake , just by walking on the nice street of central Vienna.
the surprise we had in this place was amazing!
The service was amazing and unexpected , the best service we got in Vienna,
The attention to detail, and the care that goes into the presentation of the food here is outstanding. The food is excellent and the verity of Austrian wines is very good. will come back here for sure.

The attention to detail, and the care that goes into the presentation of the food here is outstanding. Dishes are lighter than in many Viennese restaurants but the flavour and texture of the food is perfect.
They were busy when we went but the staff were charming and helpful.
We didn't book, but as it gets better known it will probably be safer to do so

Although just a few blocks from the maddening crowds of Stephansdom Platz, this lovely local restaurant turns out outstanding local dishes. On a quite side street near the main square, they offer both outdoor seating and a beautiful indoor dining room. We chose a table on a small streetside terrace and enjoyed the best of local draft beers before ordering our entrees. The special of the evening, highly recommended by our excellent waiter, was goulash with oxen, which arrived in a wonderfully tangy sauce with hints of paprika, floating on dumplings as light as air. An inspired dish, as were the other two entrees ordered by friends at the table. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and the food arrived quickly and without any apparent effort. The manager was delightfully gracious when we arrived, and quickly seated us though we did not have reservations. I made a point of returning the following day to get their card so I could share this wonderful restaurant with other diners. By the way, prices are very reasonable for the high quality of food and service....
