“Could not fault it”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

Stayed here in August for 3 nights and loved it. The location is ideal, literally round the corner for WestBanhof train and Ubahn links, the tram is also just outside the station. You are practiaclly on Mariahilfer strasse, think Oxford Street London, lots of shops, bars, and places to eat. We even walked several times into central vienna, everything was so easy to find and a gentle stroll took around 20 minutes to the Hofberg and around 40 minutes to Stephansdom.
The staff were really friendly and curteous, we left luggage their on the last day, no charge and without hassle. The rooms are modern and clean, as is the reception and bar area, very trendy colours and style. The room had plenlty of storage and everything you need ( we had an iron with us, didn't spot one in the room, so maybe you have to ask for that!).I saw some moans about a glass bathroom door on previous reviews, trust me you can't see through this, it's frosted and pretty thick. Unless travelling with a complete stranger this should not be a problem at all.
The lack of wifi did not bother us, we go on holiday to get away from all of that, can understand if a business trip though. There are a couple of PC's in the lobby and this was fine to pre book our trip back. Will certainly stay again on our next trip to Vienna.

The hotel is perfectly located in main shopping street mariahilfer and few steps from the metro station and train station and from all food shops , the standard rooms are small in size but renovated with excellent furniture and air condition and tv but there is no free wiifii in the rooms which was a surprise for us and another problem that I booked a baby cot for my child which wasn't available for the first night until they brought me one on the next night , the breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly

Room Tip: I think a standard room is good for couples but if u have a child and need baby cot u will need a su...

When I read the reviews for this hotel before going, I did think it odd that so many people highlighted the lack of free wifi. But my boyfriend and I got a good deal and stayed here at the end of a fairly budget Interrailing trip, and it does seem strange that even the cheapest of hostels will give you free wifi and yet this modern hotel is prepared to charge €9 a day! The lobby computers are, however, more than sufficient, it's just a bit outdated to charge so much!

The rest of our one-night stay was, however, very pleasant indeed. The room was spacious, very clean and very quiet - and the named welcome to my boyfriend (who made the booking), was a nice touch.
The bathroom was lovely and a small bottle of free shower gel was appreciated, as mine had run out by this point of our trip!
The reception staff were incredibly helpful and let us store our rucksacks there across the 2 days we were in Vienna, even though we only stayed the night.
Breakfast seemed expensive but it did look nice - we chose cheaper options in the Westbahnhof station across the road - very good location! Particularly recommended for tourists is the cheaper 48- or 72-hour transport ticket.

So, i stayed in the leonardo for 5 nights at the start of august. The room was clean, modern, lovely big bed which was very comfortable. It had a lovely bathroom with big shower. There was a free safe, place to put luggage, shelves and hanging space. It is situated next to one of the biggest shopping streets in vienna so i loved that and there are many supermarkets nearby to get food etc. I visited the natural history museum which was only good for me as there was a bodyworks exhibition otherwise i think only children may find it interesting. Schonbrun place was beautiful and about 45mins walk from the hotel, the zoo in the grounds was brilliant and could get so close to the animals. I cannot comment on the breakfast at the Leonardo as i didn't have it on my stay and all staff were helpful except one who looked new and a bit rude but hey overall excellent service. There is use of three computers in reception for internet 24 hours a day which is good as they charge for wifi which a bit rubbish. I didnt ask for my room to be cleaned during my stay as it was so clean to start with so didnt need it!never a bad thing, the hotel was quiet during nights and mornings so never got woken by cleaners like in other hotels!i woud definitely recommend and go back to the leonardo in the future- happy travelling!a few of my fav shops were butlers(sparse in the uk) and the frozen yoghurt place down mariahilfe strasse :)

Room Tip: i had a double room with double bed, was a lovely choice

Dear sltha

Thank you very much for sharing your experiences of your recent stay with us. I am happy to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you will recommend us.

Our hotel has a great location just across Westbahnhof train station and next to one of the main streets in Vienna, named Mariahilferstrasse.

Although the hotel is located just opposit Westbahnhof, all rooms are very quiet and perfect for relaxing after a busy day.

We truly hope to welcome you back soon.

With best regards

We stayed here on our honeymoon for two nights recently as wanted to be near to Westbahnhof and Meidling in rder to continue our inter-railing. We arrived early and were able to leave our bags at the hotel which was really good given the heatwave that was going on.

The hotel is easy to find and only a couple mins walk from WestBahnhof. To be honest the surrounding area wasn't much to write home about but it wasnt dangerous (despite a few tramps dozing on the grass). the hotel itself had a nice bar area and decent sized rooms. It was a nice touch to see a personalised welcome message on the tv!

no complaints with the modern decor or amenities in the room, air con was good and there was a safe. would have been nice to have free wifi in the room and we felt that breakfast was too expensive to take part in really.

overall it was pretty good and an ideal base for getting around Vienna. We went to an austrian dinner show at the rathauskeller which was really good and can def recommend, also the open top bus tour was a good way of learning more about the city and helped us to find more places to explore.

We stayed for 2 nights in this hotel. It is located near the underground station Westbahnhof, which makes getting around really easy. Shopping street Mariahilferstraße is just around the corner. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were clean and tidy. Breakfast was good too, typcial hotel buffet style. We enjoyed it. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.
