room was large warm and clean. Bathroom washbasin repaired and grotty, It looked so dirty we did not use it to hold water, but washed under running tap. The whole bathroom needs replacing.Extracor fan ceased functioning after 2 days. Breakfast was more than adequate as we do not eat much, however I would have liked to see boiled eggs instead of the constant scrambled which I dislike and when we came down later than usual one morning, the fruit salad was gone and not replenished. Generally the staff were friendly and polite especially the young man on reception and the handyman both of whom tried to fix the unfixable terribly old tv which shwed fuzzy programmes and hissing sound i.e. unwatchable. The two young ladies on reception whilst outwardly polite were not particularly friendly. I noted their attitude to their german guests was much warmer and outgoing. The morning of our departure we handed in our keys and said thank you and good bye - the girl on reception did not bother to reply; indeed she did not even look up from what she was doing. Hardly a recommendation for businessathe The older gentleman who was on reception a couple of times was also very taciturn. The feeling I got was more tolerance than acceptance.Although the hotelitself is outdated it has a long and varied history so this is part of its charm , however the corridors are a little austere and lifeless. I wouldnot have thought it rated 3 stars but hey! we are not the experts and for what we paid it represented value for money. If you want luxury you should book the |Hilton or the Sacher!!The old adage still rings true "you get what you pay for! As for the location I don;t think you can fault this. The U-bahn is only 3 min utes away and we had no hassle getting th Schnelbahn from the airport. Also Schonbrun is 6 stops from the U-bahn at Friedensbrucke (the stop close to the hotel)Also the tramD stops right outside of the hoteland for a yone wanting the Christmas markets it drops you right outside of the Rathaus, the biggest market and will take you to the centre at the Opera. For anyone on a budget this hotel is ideal if you can negotiate a discounted price.

Not a bad Hotel, conveniently located on tram and U bahn. Slightly dated rooms, single rooms have very small single beds. No Internet so use McDonalds nearby. Breakfast mediocre. TV in room no use for English speaking but no loss really. For the price it was fine.

After reading the various reviews for this hotel, both my friend and myself were somewhat apprehensive aabout what the hotel would be like, and in fact we were pleasantly surprised. I would agree that the decor is rather dated, but my attitude is that you don't spend that long in your room if you are in Vienna, and it was more than adequate. The room was clean and quiet, and the ensuite was excellent and quite spacious. Although what was on offer for breakfast did not vary during our stay, there was a good selection, ranging from 4 types of cereal to various types of bread, meats and cheeses, perfectly fine for what is, after all, quite a reasonably priced hotel for Vienna. The good thing about this hotel is its location, as has been mentioned in several other reviews. The D tram goes from just along from the hotel and is very frequent, taking you right into the centre of the city. There are also a couple of decent restaurants across the street, particularly the Italian one, where staff were very friendly and accommodating. As well as this, just up the road there are several grocery shops if needed. If I were to be critical, I would say that not all the staff on the desk were helpful. Some were, and you felt you could ask them questions, but others hardly glanced up from the desk when you asked for / gave in your keys, and "Guten Morgen" once in a while is surely not much to ask!! It would also have ben nice if someone had said"Hope you enjoyed your stay and that you will visit this hotel again"when we left!! You only get one chance to make a first impression!

i was very disapointed by the hotel
the location is good and the city center is easy accesable by tram but this is the only good thing about the hotel
the rooms are old, we had a room with a view on the main street and because the windows were not closing properly we couldnt sleep. we could here all the noise in the street.

I would like to say that the staff was rather rude. The most important problem was the room. It was extremely hot. Breakfast: Very poor. Very poor. On the bright side - it is quite cheap for Vienna, although we could find a better one in almost the same price. I wouldn't suggested it, especially during in summer.

First of all, the staff was rather rude and snappy! But that's OK, seeing that after all it is a budget hotel. The biggest problem was the room and quite frankly it has managed to make the rest of our trip to Vienna unforgettably awful. The room was tiny, stuffy and hot. And believe me - do NOT overestimate the power of air-conditioning in Central Europe during the summer. One could also hear every little noise, whatever way the hotel was built. Even though the main notion goes that rich Viennese that do not want to live in the First District live here - the AREA is not really attractive (with many drunks hanging around all day). The WATER in the taps was either cold or hot, never in between. Finally, the FOOD had flies sitting on it and the staff was arguing among each other creating loads of noise.
On the bright side - it is quite cheap, even though one could find other better places for the same price in the First District of Vienna.
