This is a lovely garden with very nice roses, trees, paths, fountains and one big temple in the middle of the park.
It is the Theseus temple, which usually holds small exhibitions.
A 15-minute walk in the park is more than enough to enjoy it to its fullest.

You can spend some time to relax and admire the beauty of the nature . Beautiful roses with special name for each one, nice cafés, where you can sit with the friendly birds on the same table.

THe Volksgarten, i nthe centre of Vienna, facing Burgtheater, Parliament, Heldenplatz and Ring is one of the best kept secrets - a place to walk around, sit, relax and enjoy the beauty of the roses; also very popular with elderly chinese ladies to practice their Taichi - make sure you do not miss this

One question; where can one donate roses, with a small memory plaque and what is the cost - many of my friends would like to do this

For a rose gardener this by itself would almost justify a June visit to Vienna.

I stumbled across this by accident (it's only about one block from the Hofburg, and about two blocks from the major museums), and what a find! This must be one of the largest collections of hybrid tea roses in the world. By my estimate there are at least 400 different varieties. Most are trained as standards, although there are some bedding roses. There are also some shrub roses which were in full bloom in mid-June. Almost all of the roses are labelled with the variety name and the name of the breeder.

When the roses are in full bloom (probably late May to mid-July) this park is stunning.

The park itself is well-maintained. There were a lot of people there, but it is large enough that it did not feel crowded. Best of all, it's free.

The Volksgarten now has many rose bushes that are quite beautiful and it is a pleasure to walk the park and see such beautiful flowers. They have many benches to sit on and relax.
