This is a wonderful pension in a great neighborhood of Vienna. The metro (subway) station (line 3) is across the street; it takes 10-15 minutes to get to the Old City Center.

The hotel is very clean, very friendly, and cozy. Rooms are small but very comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best I ever had (extra cost).

I highly recommend this accomodation!

Stayed here in December 2012.

This is not really a B&B, but more of a budget-pricing lodging. However, the fault is our as we had misinterpret the meaning of Pension.

Facilities
What cannot be disputed is that the inner decoration of the Pension is really nice and beautiful. However, the rooms are pretty small for 2 person, but given the pricing, i guess it is reasonable. It is definitely clean and tidy.

Location
Pension Hargita is not really conveniently located to visit the top attractions, however, it is situated very near to a U-bahn station which can get you to pretty much most of the tourist attractions. Note that Vienna has a very good U-bahn network system for its tourist.

There is also a Macdonald and Supermarket (Hoffer, Vienna's version of Aldi) just 1-2 minutes walk away from the Pension.

Service
However, i find the service attitude of Pension Hargita rather poor. When we try to ask about any recommendations for visiting or meals, we only get a cold and short reply of "you can refer to the map", "you can go to the old town and find restaurant". While this may be the norm for some, the pension did promise of providing a warm and friendly environment on its website, which happened to be untrue.

Wifi access was also restricted to only 2 devices per room, and when we asked for more, they said it was too much.

Even when we are throwing some rubbish in the kitchen, the owners will always come in and take a suspicious look at what we are doing. (note that the kitchen is cordoned off to guest most of the time, except during breakfast hours.) After we had used the common shower, the owners also like to come in and check the shower room. We felt being observed at our every action in the Pension, except when we are in our room.

Summary
In summary, this is a reasonably-priced lodging for anyone who is just looking for a place to stay and are not bothered by poor service attitude.

We have stayed at the Hargita twice. It is close to Vienna's West train station, on Mariahilfer Strasse. The rooms are small but comfortable; there is a nice restaurant (Mia Cocina) across the street. It is a little walk to the city center, but Mariahilfer is alive with people and stores and places to eat. Just know that, like with all small European hotels, there are many stairs to climb.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second floor (third from the street).

We had the double with bathroom for 68 euros. Two story walk up.The room was very small, towels like sandpaper, no washclothes, no soap except in the dispenser. Very clean, good breakfast for 5 euros, good location.
