If you like European apartment buildings this hotel is for you. It is actually an old apartment building - and the reception is up on the first floor.... Don't be disappointed as you enter. It really is a find. Very friendly staff, great rooms (you really couldn't hear the other rooms or noise from ours), great breakfast and great afternoon tea - well worth getting back to relax in front of the fire and eat cake and drink tea from 4 to 6pm (the afternoon tea is included in the room rate as is the breakfast)...

The hotel is located in a quiet part of town, nearest underground is Volkstheater - and it's 5 minutes from there. We walked to the Hofburg Palace (Spanish Riding school) in 15 minutes - so I think it's very well located - although you're not in the centre of town. But the walk is mostly on big wide boulevards and very pleasant - and you pass quite a lot of 'sights'.

As I said great staff - very friendly and helpful. Very comfortable rooms. Lots of great modern art in the rooms and communal rooms.

The hotel doesn't have a restaurant - but does breakfast and tea. They also have a 'snack' menu which we used after the theatre - and that was very good....

I'd definitely recommend it if you want something 'different', a bit quirky and extremely comfortable.

This was the most charming hotel we stayed at during a week-long sojourn in Prague, Vienna and Budapest. Loved the chandelier and romantic setting in our room. Service was great. Staff were very friendly and hospitable.

We stayed three nights in this boutique hotel while touring Vienna. Our unit was a one bedroom apartment with a huge bedroom, living room and 1 1/2 baths with an eclectic and cool atmosphere but very comfortable feel. The breakfast room was lovely with excellent food selections and very friendly service. The neighborhood is close to all the major touristic areas and bus and subway transportation but a few blocks removed, so that it is calm and quiet. Every night we felt like we were returning home. Highly recommended for anyone wanting more than a typical tourist hotel.

Warm and charming Mitteleuropa atmosphere in a 1900s art deco building located in an artistic district near the center . One feels being welcome personally by a Viennese family . Excellent level of service and high quality of the bedroom , the bathroom, and the "salon" rooms where you have breakfast , afternoon tea , after dinner drinks with a cosy fireplace and confortable sofas. The central location in Vienna / Spittelberg is outstanding , near to the Museumsquartier , and to main famous places of interest . You may even visit the city by walking from the hotel . All rooms seem to be different though always mixing tradition and modernity with pieces of art decorating the walls and corridors......

Room Tip: Ask for a room located in 2d or 3rd floor and with view on the church , because you will have more l...

The quality of customer service is beyond any experience I ever had. It's just amazing and quickly felt. Moreover, the warm friendly smile never left the hotel's staff. It could be the best Hotel in world but definetly the best in vienna.

Our first trip to Vienna and we picked the perfect hotel. The location is a few blocks from the old town "ring" in a neat neighborhood. We were glad to be away from the tourism area and have a little slice of the true Vienna. Close to the subway system and the Westbahnhof.
The staff is great; we realized we just had to ask and they would help us with directions or give us great restaurant recommondations. Good breakfast and afternoon tea and cake. We had a Matteo Thume room, very well decorated, very quiet. Most of the best placed we ate were within a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel and the main shopping street was a 10 minute walk. I recommend the Altstadt to anyone.

Room Tip: We only saw the Matteo Thum rooms, but if you want a different look they are cool. I will agree wit...

Those, like me, visiting Vienna to take in some musical heritage and arts will hopefully agree that this is a lovely if slightly unusual hotel. "Boutique" and "arty" I would use, but then I'd have to also add "tea and cake at 4pm - 6pm", "large rooms", "wonderful service" alongside "interesting mismatch of furniture and strange coloured wallpaper there"...
We stayed here for four nights and, apart from not being able to get onto their wifi on my phone, I cannot really find fault with the hotel. Probably the comfiest bed I've slept in in years too.

As it's on the edge of the Spittleberg area, it's very bohemian. But totally safe. A mere 10 minutes walk from Parliament, 6 minutes from the Museums Quartier (if you think that's too far then you are either lazy or have a body mass index you should be ashamed of).

I find it encouraging that a small sized hotel can compete with the big hitting more expensive hotels. This one did it for us on our stay and I would happily stay there again. Thanks Trip Advisor!
