This street has all the important buildings of Vienna, from the Opera House to the City Hall. You can ride the number 1 tram (streetcar) from Schweden Platz subway station around the ring to see all the beautiful buildings.

It was a very brief, nice view of the center of Vienna. It wasa interesting to go around the main streets and hear some story about it.

The superb Ringstrasse boulevards contain a lot of Vienna's main attractions - the Rathaus, the Parliament building, the Hofburg complex, and so on..

For the price of normal public transport, we took tram 2 from Schwedenplatz to the Parliament building, then tram 1 round the rest of Ringstrasse back to our starting point.

The Ringstrasse is basically one street that borders the Innerstadt of Vienna but has different section names such as Opernring, Karntnering ect. Along this majestic boulevard you can find many of Vienna’s top attractions and magnificent architecture. You can spend days traversing this wonderful road and always see new things.

Bitterly disappointed with this attraction.

My wife was very keen to tour the Ringstrasse and had researched it and read two novels which included it prior to our visit.

We visited the Tourist Information Office by the Opera to enquire where the tour started from , they informed us where to go to pick up the tour.

I had purchased weekly unlimited transport tickets and asked if we could use them on the Ringstrasse tour and was told yes.

You can imagine my annoyance when arriving at the tram stop to be told this is a private venture and I could not use my weekly tickets , feeling duped, but not wanting to upset my wife I stumped up €18.00 for the two of us.

The tram arrived, which was a battered old tram with uncomfortable seating , we were given headsets to listen to the commentary.

The commentary was very sparse and with the basic information given.

We didn’t have to worry too much about the uncomfortable seating as the whole tour was over in 20 minutes.

On disembarking the tram I overheard other customers complaining about the lack of information and the brevity of the tour.

Come on Vienna you can do better than this.
