We were with a 4 years old child and the grandparents, and everybody had fun on the Riesenrad. We could take nice photos from above. The cabins are safe and well can be locked. The journey takes approx. 15 minutes. The ticket is a bit expensive, but the Ferris Wheel is a symbol, it's worth a try. Approach: U2 metrostation, Praterstern station. (Starting from the underground to the Prater there is a drinking fountain.)

Despite the average, it's a must see. It's Vienna's history and still gives you a beautiful view of Vienna's skyline. If you're planning ahead you can even make a reservation for a romantic diner in it.

for 9 euros, I guess the ride could have lasted a little longer than what it actually had taken, but it still was a very fun ride!!

It was a clear winter day, so the view from up there was amazing!!

The Ferris wheel takes you up to view Vienna from above.

The price is a bir steep and the view was not as breathtaking as expected.

Of note is the display at the base is the wheel depicting the area of prater at different times with moving figures and items.

Can there be much better than a fabulous view from a scene in a Bond movie? Part of the Living Daylights was filmed on this wheel and the cafe and the hedge beside it have remained just as they were in the film. Sends shivers u my spine every time I go.
