We went to Vienna without much of a plan, so after some quick research on Trip Advisor and Lonely planet, we decided to spend an afternoon at Museum Quarter.
It is a brilliant idea - use historic buildings in a one block radius and sell package tickets to see as many or as few as you would like. However, the museums we chose weren't exactly what we expected. We went to the Leopold Museum and the Museum of Modern Art (MUMOK).
Leopold was interesting and I especially enjoyed the collection and life story of Gustav Klimt. MUMOK was showing a fashion exhibit, which I had much higher hopes for. While some of it was interesting, there wasn't much there. It took us several hours to get through the Leopold collections, but less than an hour at MUMOK.
Overall, it is not a bad day to spend a steamy August afternoon. I would recommend it, if you want to get out of the elements, but Vienna has such beautiful architecture and parks, I suggest staying outside, if you can.
