“Beautiful beyond belief!”
Reviewed October 12, 2013

It's a hike to get to this place, but well worth it (take bus 48A, either from central Vienna or at the end of the U line - U3, I think it was). The church's lines are so pure, the ornamentation so clean, the stained glass so beautiful. I have to believe this is one of the most beautiful buildings I've ever seen. Mind you, it's not the "conventional" art nouveau, even though that's what they say it is. In some ways it's more like Meis van der Roh's Barcelona Pavilion. It's just that clean and pure!

“Make the effort to get out to see this stunning Jugendstil church”
Reviewed October 9, 2013 via mobile

The church is well out of the centre of Vienna and takes some getting to but it is worth it,
. Added to the distance it is only open on Saturdays 12:00 to 16:00 and Sundays 12:00 til 15:00. I researched how to get there and took the u bahn line3 to Ottarkring then train 46 b or 146 b and got off above the church in the woods by the fire station. This made for a lovely walk through the parkland above the hospital grounds ,beautiful in autumn. The church is just stunning though, it simply knocks your breath away. The design, the stained glass , the overall effect are harmonious and beautiful. The highlight of our sightseeing in Vienna.

“Unique church, worth a visit”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

Totally different from the lot of churches you can see in Vienna, a little far away from the center, but it worth a visit. Designed by Otto Wagner as a neuropsyquiatric hospital church, it is amazing and very pretty, even if you are not an architecture expert. From city center, we take the U-bahn 3 to Ottakring and there the bus 48A to Otto-Wagner-Spital (30 minutes approximately all the trip), at the entrance of the Hospital, and we walk 300 m approx. (many of them upstairs). Church opens Saturdays between 16 to 17.00 hs is free, and Sundays 12 to 16 hs the entrance costs 2€ (Mass: Sundays 9.30 hs).

“Must see Jungenstil Church!”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

This is a must see jugendstil church on the grounds of the major mental hospital in Vienna. Situated on top of a hill overlooking the city this is one of the hidden jewels, unique in its style and location!
