“Upper Belvedere only”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

I can only comment on the Upper Belvedere as we ran out of time so could not see the Lower.
Upper however was great - the Klimt were marvellous...as was the Linzertorte in the cafe!

“Superb art exhibition”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

A visit to the Klimt exhinition at the Belvedere was the cultural highlight of our trip to Vienna. Housed in the impressive Belvedere palace, the exhibits were well lit and each was well described - you could follow the whole of the artist's life through his work. The religious art work plus the other Impressionist work is also good, but for us, standing in front of Klimt's Kiss was memorable. The palace and gardens are well worth a viewing too - amazing that there is this much open space in a capital city - a real oasis. A small tip - if you are walking from the Ring and Schwarzenbergplatz, there is no entry to the gardens at the bottom of the hill off Prinz Eugen Strasse. Head up Rennwegg instead and you will find a gateway into the gardens - a much more pleasant walk. The gateway is also very close to the Salm Brewery and pub - also recommended.

“Klimt should not be missed!”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

We visited the Belvedere to see the Klimt Collection...it was fantastic. The art collection exhibited in Belvedere are all impressive. The staff of this place are courteous. They have nice clean toilettes and lift for those who are already tired of walking. And of course, not to be missed: the lovely garden, the grounds and the beauty of the palace itself.
