Albertina is a beautiful art gallery with a collection of art from impressionist to modern. The special exhibition of Helnwein was disturbing but excellent - a must-see.

Loved the art, the staff was friendly, the museum was easily accessible! Wished I had managed my time better so I could have stayed longer. I loved the Monet stairs and the cafe out front was lovely!

Check the museum to see what the changing exhibits are. The Monet to Picasso was great. The State Apartments are interesting too.

The Albertina probably has one of the best art collections in the world. I saw Roy Liechtenstein, der Blaue Reiter exhibition (Kandinsky, Paul Klee et al), Rene Magritte (ceci n'est pas une pipe), and so many more.

Schiele is on permanent exhibition, as are Monet, Picasso, Renoir and other old masters. If you only have time to visit one museum in Vienna, and are a lover of life and art, do go to the Albertina.

(p.s. around the corner of its entrance, is the Do&Co Restaurant Albertina. Also good).

The gift shop is very enticing! Come prepared!
