Lovely hotel in a quiet street bordering the museum district. Easy to walk to main attractions and a subway 5 minutes away. Reception staff formal but very helpful: excellent English and polite. Rooms decent size; modern bathrooms...only quirky thing was taking a shower or bath during the day or late afternoon...warm water but no HOT water available at these times...
Breakfasts excellent, the breads especially. Rooms spotless and very efficient cleaning staff each day.
Speedy, free wi-fi which was a pleasant change.
This is a functional modern hotel not an old Viennese one with architecture....so plumbing works!! Take the "Ring tram" for a tour round the sights and hop on and off at will to capture the architecture and the scale/grandeur of the place.
One or two good restaurants nearby or walk into the main centre...all very safe to walk in at night... This is Austria, not Barcelona!

Room Tip: Upper floors facing the courtyard

I was in Vienna recently for a corporate training; this hotel was recommended by the training provider as it was within walking distance to the center. Hotel & rooms were clean, well-appointed and the breakfast had a typical "continental" spread usually offered in this price range. The neighborhood borders on the "eclectic" (i.e,. mix of shops offering "trendy" 2nd-hand clothes, shops specializing in fair trade teas & chai, etc.) I considered the local dining to be limited, and ate most of my meals in other districts. If you're interested in the museums, it's within walking distance. If I were a traveler, unless I got a really good bargain on these rooms, I might be tempted to look elsewhere as I felt "disconnected" from what Vienna has to offer.

I stayed one night in this hotel on a business trip. It was very conveniently located, with good restaurants walking distance. The staff was very friendly and could recommend a great restaurant. The room was big, comfortable and clean, modern. The breakfast buffet was excellent, very diverse with fresh food. This hotel would also be a good choice for a longer stay.

We spent 3 nights here and were very impressed with the cleanliness, decor and facilities. On check in, the staff were very helpful and recommended an excellent restaurant just round the corner. Our room was warm, comfortable and despite being next to the tram line, very peaceful. The bathroom was stocked thoughtfully and reception were happy to help with any extras. We needed extra pillows but that was a personal preference, we both like lots of pillows.

Breakfast was delicious, plentiful and staffed by some lovely chatty staff who were happy to make us tea and provide alternatives to the items in the buffet. One thing to note, their English breakfast tea blend is very different from our standard tea blend and I found it too fragrant to drink with milk. Not a complaint as it was lovely, but take your own tea bags if a cuppa is important to you!

We didn't try the hotel bar, lunch or evening meals as while they were comparable to the restaurants close by but the restaurants have a much nicer atmosphere. We did try a Viennese coffee and strudel, which were both excellent. Kristoff was especially helpful and made us feel right at home.

I would definitely stay here again, it's location in the museum quarter meant it was near several palaces we wanted to visit and a 10 minute walk from the main shopping thoroughfare. The staff and hotel were just lovely and made our first holiday together memorable.

Room Tip: A courtyard room will be quieter. Rooms on the 2nd floor can get wifi but it is patchy outside the l...

We have just spent 3 nights in Maria Theresia in Vienna and can only endorse the previous reviews. We had a large room overlooking a courtyard therefore it was very peaceful. Everything was spotless with ample storage space. The heated bathroom floor was a luxury! The breakfasts were the highlight - everything you could wish for and the servery was constantly refilled during the morning. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. We had a light supper in the bar one evening, having walked our feet off during the day, and so enjoyed the selection on the menu and the peacefulness of the bar area. As previous reviewers have commented, there are many local restaurants to choose from. Try the Valpiano restaurants in the City though. You choose your own type of spagetti and the sauce and it is cooked in front of you. Very pleasant staff and great fun. Go feeling hungry! Would certainly look out for K+K hotels again.

We stayed in the Maria Theresia last September but I only just remembered that I hadn't reviewed it - having said which I very much doubt that the standard has gone down in the past 6 months! We really liked this hotel - it's in an old building but has been fitted out in a very modern style, so if you're looking for a Biedermeier interior you will be disappointed; but if you like modern comforts I think you will be happy. The bed in our room was huge and comfortable, and the bathroom was large and well-fitted. The housekeeping staff do a good job - the room was always spotless. The staff in reception can be a little formal, but when we needed advice about finding a bus to get us to a particular church they were very helpful. There is a bar area in the main foyer, where you can get drinks of all kinds (and, I believe bar snacks, though we didn't order any of these) - the staff there are helpful and attentive. This hotel has one of the best breakfast buffets I have ever enjoyed - a 5-night stay didn't provide us with nearly enough opportunities to be able to eat our way through the range of hot and cold foods on offer! The hotel is brilliantly situated for exploring central Vienna - we walked from there to all of the main galleries and museums - and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. It also has the advantage of being in a pretty quiet side street, so there isn't much traffic noise to disturb you if you're a light sleeper. We were so impressed by the standard of the Maria Theresia that when we booked our next city break one of our first questions was "Is there a K+K hotel there?"!

We used this hotel for a 3 night winter break in Vienna. Its prime advantage is its location. It is right next to the Museum Quarter where there is so much to see. There is an underground station within a 5 minute walk. Just at the end of the street are a number of restaurants and pubs. We never had to venture far for our evening drink and meal. The hotel itself provided a good standard international buffet breakfast. The bar was functional and comfortable, if a little soulless. The staff were helpful, friendly and, inevitably, spoke impeccable English. The rooms are modern and clean with the usual facilities of safe and minibar. We would recommend city break visitors to Vienna to stay at the hotel.
