“not good for summer”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2012

I stayed in this hotel twice this year.It was Ok in April but it was unbearable the hot in July!
I spent a sleepless night due to very high temperature in the room. There is no air conditioning system and they do not provide neither any fen or air circulator.
The location is very convenient ,in the most famous shopping street in Vienna and next to the westbahnhof train station. The breakfast is very rich with all kind of food and served in a very nice ,large and bight breakfast room

We were at the hotel for 3 nights from June 18-21; Vienna was extremely hot during our visit about 34-35 C. To our surprise there was no air conditioner in the room - a small pedestal fan was given which did not work. Wifi was very expensive. A very hot experience. Would not recommend.

Room Tip: Do not stay here during summers

This was a reasonably nice hotel that was badly let down by the lack of Air Con in any of the rooms other than the lobby and possibly the conference rooms. The rooms were reasonably comfortable but unbearably hot and stuffy at night and basically any time of the day. It was 34 degrees outside and probably hotter in our room. We had one small fan in our room which went 24/7 but was virtually useless. The only ventilation which was some sort of vent in our room that sucked out the air was turned off at night because the staff said it was too noisy???????????

The other gripe was the exhorbitant price of wi/fi at 4 euros an hour or 18 a day. We have stayed at dozens of hotels on our tour and most offer free wi/fi. The most I have ever paid was 10 Euros a day and I still consider that too much.

The breakfast was nice but after a night drenched in sweat I didnt eat that much.

To sum up this would be an ok place to go in winter but I would avoid it like the plague in Summer. There were 39 of us on the tour and everyone I spoke to said the same thing HORRIBLY HOT AND STUFFY. Sorry Intercity but I wont be back!

Room Tip: I cant help you here as the whole hotel has no A/C

I stayed at this hotel in June 2012 and had paid for a regular room. Upon arrival to the hotel the receptionist asked if we would like to upgrade to a business room with free internet access. We accepted. The only real complaint that I could give about this hotel is that the internet connection was really horrible on only one of the days we were there, the rest of the days it was a little slow. However this is not such a big deal, we were just kind of disappointed since we paid more to have internet. Anyways, the hotel is really conveniently located right next to the Westbanhof and literally a minutes walk away from a Ubahn station. We prefered to walk to the center of the city and this took about 15 minutes, not too long. The hotel is located on one of the main Vienna shopping streets and was very well priced since Vienna is extremely expensive. The staff was very friendly and the hotel room very clean and modern. Overall we were very satisfied with this hotel and if I came back to Vienna I would definitely consider staying here again.

Room Tip: Business rooms are located away from the main street and elevator

Attended a conference here late May. This hotel has an excellent location if you're visiting Vienna. Book early online for the best rates. It's just a short walk from the train station (although there is an international train station being built) and a very short walk from two metro stations. Taxi from the airport to the hotel was @€50 (about the same as getting the bus if sharing)

I did have the breakfast one day - which was ample - but you're far better off outside - there are some great cafes nearby for much cheaper (head up Kaiserstasse for instance). Like all IntercityHotels you get free city travel included as part of your stay - don't leave without it. You're only 3-4 stops on the metro from the old city centre.

Very friendly front desk and bar staff; although I don't think they were geared to deal with so many people wanting beer. Bear in mind that while there is wi-fi internet in all the rooms but you'll need a passwords which cost €20 for 24 hours of use (i.e. you get 24 hours over the period of your stay while in the hotel. There appeared to be no limit, but the signal wasn't overly reliable. Should and could do better.

The hotel had no air conditioning but mine did have a fan in the room. My room was a business room which had a living area and a twin bedroom. Nice. Some may find the lack of additional sheets and pillows inconvenient. However, the kitchen was a handy touch.

From a conference venue point of view - the hotel simply struggles to deal with a lot of people, the conference rooms could do with aircon as they could get pretty hot.

So excellent staff, good location. Negatives conferences may find the conference room cumbersome, breakfast was expensive, no air con and the wi-fi should be better.

Excellent location, good bfast to start, 1min walk from central station. good shopping around. just above metro , take road facing room if you want to enjoy the view of vienna moving, very friendly front desk and they guide u well. Internet passwords were provided without informing that it would be charged, beware

Room Tip: ask for a fan if hot. they call it ventilator.

We were in Vienna for 2 nights in April and suprisingly those 2 days were very hot.The hotel had no air conditioning nor any fans in the rooms. The rooms were very small and conjusted .We had 2 rooms and they were on different floors .Extremely inconvenient. The saving grace is the wonderful staff. It was late night when we checked in and the reception staff a girl and boy were just about to finish their shift and we called up regarding the heat in the room and if they could provide us with any fans they said they had none but would see how they could help us.They came in to give us the table fans which they must be using in the office.Very sweet of them to go out of their way to make us comfortable .So Great Staff ,Great Location just across the main railway station ,and tram station.Negatives very small rooms and cannot stay there in summer no a/c or fans!!!!
