be there for two days on a business trip, very close to the west station, efficent and kind staff, nice design.

Not five stars only because the moquette of the room needed some renovation and the breakfast buffet can be improved a little, but with the price I paid (less than 80/night) was a fantastic deal.

Room Tip: each room seems different, so every room has its own story.

Dear Mr. Gian Andrea,
Thank you for posting your comments on tripadvisor.com.
We are really glad to read that you were satisfied with our service and that you had a nice time in Vienna.

We just want to thank you for your suggestions about the moquette. We will take a close look and will evaluate what to do about it;-). Regarding the breakfast, we offer a rich breakfast buffet with partly regional and partly organic or fair-trade products. We always attempt to meet all our guests´ expectations and tastes and are happy to meet special requests whenever possible.

If you have any ideas for our breakfast buffet, we would be grateful if you could share them with us. Please, do not hesitate to contact me: stefania.aloia@hotelstadthalle.at

We hope we may welcome you again soon and would be more than happy to assist you personally with your reservation.

Best regards,
Stefania Aloia

My boyfriend and I stayed here in December 2012. The first thing that hits you on the way in is the beautiful lavender smell. The girl who checked us in was very friendly and gave us a map and suggestions on the best places to see.

The bedroom itself was lovely - really clean and comfortable and smelled deliciously lemony. We also got some lovely lavender chocolates. The bed was super comfortable.

The location is slightly out of the way, but just a ten minute walk from the Westbahnhof. On the positive side of this, because the hotel is not in the centre of town, it is really quiet, with no street noise.

The breakfast was so delicious! Great selection of fruits, breads, jams, spreads, cold meat, cheese, scrambled egg, juices, teas, coffees and pastries. Heaven! The waitresses were also extremely friendly and efficient. Tables were cleared straight away and everything was very clean and nicely presented.

This was my first time in Vienna and if I do visit again, I will definitely stay here. Such good value too!

Room Tip: As I stayed here in winter I didn't have a problem with lack of air conditioning. I paid slightly more for a 'garden room' and it was beatiful.

Yes, it's true - very difficulty write about excellence hotel, so I'll be brief - first time I saw that photo from hotel worse than they really are. Everything in hotel just fine! Location - very quiet place, close to subway (two stations), near railway- and bus station. Inside hotel - very-very cosily. Beautiful girl at reception! If staying in Wien - then Boutique Hotel Stadthalle.
And more - at corner russian food shop, but correctly shop like in USSR - interior and odor that we forgot, authentic soviet shop!:)

I can only echo what others have said. The exterior is unassuming ... to say the least. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it is a very convenient location near the westbahnhof. The rooms are "small but perfectly formed" with quality fittings and pretty omfortable overall. The breakfast is excellent with a great selection of food. I did comment on the lack of a toaster and i suspect that there will be one there the next time i visit! It is not particularly cheap but i suspect that nothing is in viennna.

We picked this hotel based on the reviews and were not disappointed. We were there for nine nights around New Years. There really were no problems with anything. The room was a little small, but that is pretty much what to expect in Europe. It was clean an well maintained. The wireless Internet worked fine and is free. We really enjoyed the breakfasts. There were scrambled eggs, and hard and soft boiled ones.. A variety of breads, meats, cheeses, cereals, and other items were also available. We found the staff to be very helpful with any inquiries we had about where to eat, how to get there, etc. we would definitely go back.

Room Tip: It is not close to the city center, but the public transportation is excellent.
