“Basic and slightly out of the way”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

My office booked me at this hotel for 9 days in January 2013. Its a bit out of the way so for tourists it may not be ideal. More suited for longer stay. There are a couple of supermarkets next door and a McDonald round the corner. It was extremely cold and snowy when I stayed there so sightseeing was out of question. I am told the vineyards are not far away so summer time would give a different perspective.

The hotel is very basic. The room is tiny and long. There are no toiletries provided nor even a safe in the room. There is a laundromat downstairs and a gym/spa which was useful. The cleaning lady comes only once a week so be mindful that the bins will start stinking after a few days. There is a miniature TV in the room that only has German channels except CNN. So if you don't know German entertainment choices are restricted to the laptop and books. I haven't used the breakfast option yet.

In conclusion stay here only because it is cheap. Remember it is not really a hotel but more of a service apartment. Don't expect any frills.

Room Tip: Take a room with a balcony. At least you can go out there and feel a bit less claustrophobic.

Thanks a lot for your rating!
I guess your company booked an apartment for you as you stayed 9 days in our hotel.
Included in the apartment rate is twice a week cleaning.
Of course it wouldn't have been a problem to change the bins if they are full even if you have no cleaning on that day.
We perform ongoing renovation work. In that context we are also changing the TV's to flat panel TVs which are bigger.
We would be very happy to welcome you again in our hotel.
Maybe you would like to try our rich breakfast buffet next time.

Best regards

the room has no sign to a 4 stars hotel. A dark room which has no luxory and is depresing. It contains an old tv set with only one English channel. The design is very spartan and it seems that the hotel dont invest for years in refurbishment. The room contains a kettle with tea and coffee and 4 free bottles in the minubar. The room is clean and the staff is very helpful. The breakfast buffet is varries especially the hot berverages machine, the breads, cheesses and pastries.

If I would rate the employees of the hotel, I would have given FIVE STARS. They were extremely friendly and helpful. But facilities wise, this is an old hotel with very tiny rooms and basic facilities. Bathroom was not bright enough and there was no bar soap or shampoo/hair conditioner. A tiny, old fashioned tube style TV in the room did not seem to work. Breakfast area is congested and quality of food was thumbs down. I didn't understand the the hotel rating system in Austria for it was rated a 4-star hotel which was most misleading. The hotel is located in 19th distrct of Vienna which means in the middle of no where. Management may need to invest some money to renovate and upgrade the hotel.

We stayed here for two nights with a Newmarket tour. Lovely hotel very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very friendly. Very easy to get into Vienna by tram just round the corner from the Hotel. Very good retaurants close by and super markets.
We had a ground floor room with a little garden although it was not warm enough to sit outside it would be lovely in the summer. Would most certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room with a garden.

The hotel is very good a little bit old. The staff is very kind and helpful. Although the card did manage an error while paying everything was ok. At thid price the hotel is a great value in Viena. Don't forget it if you want to go to Grinzing.

Checked in with Newmarket tours, for 2 nights on 5th and 6th Oct. Nice clean rooms, with inbuilt cooker if you need. Free 2 bottles of beer and water...nice clean beds and bathroom. Enough towels and clean bathroom. But still using small 14" CTR...not nice though! but we had a 987 room, ground floor, with garden. Nice one. But hope they update the TV. Breakfast is nice, enough space to walk around and get what you want, but not much option for Vegetarians. They were kind enough to get me a hard boiled eggs for both day breakfast. Did not see normal bread....for a toast. They had rest all and Sparking wine for breakfast too :)
Spar and Billa supermarkets next door for your shop anything. We bought our dinners from there...nice one.
Tram and Underground connection close to hotel. So getting into and out of hotel is easy. Buy a shopping ticket, with which you can travel around freely in any public transport full day, its like a day pass.
Nice place overall.

Room Tip: Get Ground floor rooms..and their ground floor starts from 9 ...987 is nice.

First of all, the rooms are very small. Feels more like a closet than a hotel room. The air-conditioner does not go lower than 21 degrees Celcius. 3 separate request for a fan provided no result. Opening the window would be OK except that the room faced the front road where there is a lot of road noise. The stool as part of the fold-down desk is not suitable for business travelers that may have to work for extended time on a laptop. Getting from this hotel to town requires a tram ride for about 20 minutes just to get back into town. Breakfast was not included even with the corporate rate.
There were quite a few tour groups from different countries. If you just need a place to sleep and have all transportation arranged, I suppose it is OK.
The front desk personnel were quite helpful. I would say that was the best part of stay.

Room Tip: Don't take the rooms facing the front of the hotel due to traffic and loading/unloading from bus...
