“Another Great Holiday”
Reviewed August 31, 2014

The hotel is one of those places you can rely on time after time to deliver great service, wonderful food and excellence all-round. This was our 4th visit to the hotel and this time we upgraded to a junior suite.. Lovely room and no complaints at all.

Have stayed briefly in this hotel again and will definitely be coming back. However, this time we chose a standard room, which was # 479. Like I mentioned in my previous review, I was not exactly thrilled with the experience of staying in the executive room and the opportunity to access the executive lounge. In my opinion, it was just a waste of money. Our latest stay was very satisfactory starting from the check-in to the check-out. Particularly, I would like to mention the breakfast, which was still one of the best I have experienced in the European hotels. What I also thoroughly enjoy in Marriotts are the beds, which are wide and extremely comfortable.
Before leaving for the airport we had a quick lunch at the Garten Cafe, which was very good and the service was also very prompt and professional.
We paid for accommodation 239 euro and that was quite close to the fair price. However, in November I would be happy to pay not more than 200 euro. So making the price policy more flexible would be highly recommended.

Stayed 4 nights; gold rewards member with access to executive lounge, etc. We previously stayed there about 3 years ago, and had a lovely time. This time around it was absolutely awful. We were on the 7th floor facing the "Weihburg Gasse". The room smelled of smoke and the carpet looked like it needed a good cleaning (or replacement for that matter). The noisiness of the entire hotel was absolutely infuriating. All night long, and into the early mornings, doors were being slammed; there was also constant loud chatter in the hallways. Similarly, the breakfast area was overrun with individuals who were playing loud music on their phones, nonstop. The staff seemed content on ignoring the behavior. Would love to say something good about my stay, but cannot. Really disappointed! Not sure that I am willing to give it another try on my next trip to Vienna.

Stated here for three nights for a bank holiday break.
My partner is a platinum elite Marriott member so our experience might vary from most.
Check in was smooth. We where given a bottle of wine in a room upon arrival. Our room was on the 7th floor and was exceptionally clean and modern. No wear and tear. Free wifi. Hotel lobby has a lovely area to grab cakes and drinks. Breakfast had lots of options and fantastic service. There is a sports bar in the hotel that was a good place to grab a quick bight and drinks over a match. Thomas who works there was really friendly and managed the busy bar with ease.

Negatives- cleaners started hoovering around out table at 10:40 on Sunday morning while eating breakfast. Felt like you where been kicked out. No water in room, it's 6€ for a 100ml bottle from the mini bar!!! (Make sure u get some to take with you)
Complimentary tea and coffee was never replaced from the first day of us getting there and the dirty mug was also left. Apart from that house keeping was a good standard.

Subject: Vienna Marriott Hotel
Location: Vienna, Austria, Europe
Title: Disappointing Stay
ID#: 222925898

We stayed at the Vienna Marriott 20 years ago. It was a beautiful upscale hotel. Unfortunately it has not aged well and a total renovation would be well advised. Beds are sagging and the carpet is worn. Our bathroom counter was a dark brown material with stains. Marcus, an assistant manager did provide me with a better mattress when I complained, but that required a move to an even smaller inside room for the remaining 6 days of our stay. This month the hotel is filled with families who are allowing their children to run in the halls and slam doors at all hours. Families with numerous children take up most of the space in the executive lounge also making it a noisy and unpleasant place to be. The lobby is dark, unattractive and has several junky stores.
The breakfast buffet is so crowded that the line for eggs is impossibly long. Housekeeping services were very late and we often had to call to get the room made up. One little bar of soap was provided and we had to ask to get an extra one. We are gold level Marriott members and bottled water has always been provided in the room free of charge at other Marriotts. When we checked in we asked for a room facing the park but were told none were available. The attitude of the clerk was that we were lucky to get any room. True, we were staying on points but those points represent brand loyalty and money. Overall the hotel was certainly not up to 4 or 5 star standards. The hotel is well located and that's the best feature.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the park have the best view. Try not to get a room facing the ugly inner courtyard

Stayed with family for 3 nights. The location is excellent, staff is helpful, breakfast was very good. The rooms are large but look dated with old style furniture. There was musty smell in our room. The air condition was not cooling well. The room became warm and humid. Despite calling maintenance twice they were unable to fix it. The maintenance guy told us that the humidity was due to the humid weather in Vienna at that time...... "Seriously"!!. Finally on my trip a hotel with some English channels on TV. Coming back to Vienna in December won't stay here.

I liked staying in this hotel, rooms were clean and spacious, view from the window onto the park was fantastic, opera house and park were within workind distance. I couldnt enjoy that as I was at a conference there. The lounge was excellent. You could have a very good breakfast and dinner. It is located at the heart of the city, staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel was very clean and neat, Wi-fi was excellent.
