“Not the newest hotel and definitely not in the greatest location”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

This hotel was very adequate for our stay in Vienna. It is located a few blocks from Schonbrun Castle and zoo but not close to anything else including restaurants. The subway station is directly across the street which made it convenient to get to attractions and center city, but other that that it was really out of the main area of the city. The staff was very nice, helpful and could speak English very well. The rooms were outdated but comfortable. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and it had many traditional Viennese dishes that were delicious. Breakfast (which was included in our package) was delicious and plentiful. Many choices including a made to order omelet/waffle bar.

Maybe I've been spoilt but I didn't really get on with this place at all. It felt like the staff didn't even want to be there. The rooms are looking tired but the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good but wi-fi is ridiculously expensive. These days it should be free.

It is good value for money, so that is a plus. It's just not my first choice for staying in gorgeous Vienna.

This was our third trip to Vienna, but first at the Renaissance. Located inside the "Ringstrasse" it is an easy walking distance to the major galleries and museums. Their Sunday brunch has one seating, only, so reserve ahead, it's great.

Room Tip: A "city view" is preferred.

This is a well-run hotel, not necessarily the newest facility, but in good shape and problem-free. Nice big room, clean, everything maintained and in order. Good breakfast. Front desk and transportation captain efficient and friendly. There's a metro station right next door which gets you to the historic downtown center in 5 stops.

I was there 3 nights. All comfortable and quiet. I'll stay here again.

I feel bad rating this place as 'average' but equally I couldn't rate it was 'very good' either. Its inbetween.

Firstly, the location, very well connected to the excellent and easy to navigate metro. Otherwise its a bit boring. Its not in the thick of things and its a bit grey but its not far away and the market is nearby.

The lobby is pleasant, American feel and the reception staff were friendly. Because of status we asked about a room upgrade but this wasn't available for several hours so we took a standard room. Annoying but at least the internet was still free. The room itself was tired and pretty far away from the lifts. No view and the privacy curtains were hanging off their rails, not a great look. Old style TV and small bathroom just made the place feel like it needs a really good refresh. Naff pictures and floral curtains need to be binned immediately.

What saves this old dear from a proper negative review is the truly great breakfast. A huge selection of international breakfast stuffs made it a great experience. It was included in the rate we got and was very much worth it.

I personally think if you get a cheap rate then you won't be disappointed but I reckon there's nicer out there.

Stayed three days at this Renaissance hotel. It was an overall great experience with no issues encountered. Great friendly staff, clean rooms, and excellent food in the restaurant. The only thing I would change is the pay wifi and the times complimentary tea and coffee are offered. I will definitely consider this hotel the next time I'm in Wien!!!

A very nice place for a good 4 star experience.

The nicest thing I remember is that I had no complaints.

Their excellent breakfast deserves a special mention. A bit far away from the "city" though.

Good service. Safe bet.
