The hotel is huge and very well maintained, lots of things to do from fitness center with sauna to warm pool. The location is very handy - 3 min walking distance from Rennweg station (where you can take S7 to the airport), approx. 15 min walking to Opera House and 3 min to tram station (where you can take the # 71 to downtown). The room is large, the bed huge and very comfortable. I had a great sleep. The service follows the chain standards fully. No surprises (good or bad)!

If I would have been in vacation, maybe it wouldnt be so important, but when you travel work related, staying connected its very important.
I was at a conference in Vienna, and I had the surprise to find out that I had not WiFi in my room, only in the lobby and there it was with money and very slow.
The food was quite good, but the restaurant hotel in the evening, no matter what you ordered, they brought Schnitzel to you :))), which was not even in the menu.
Friendly staff and okish rooom

Dear valued guest,

Thank you for choosing our hotel for your trip to Vienna.

As we were not able to fulfill your needs and expectations we would like to state our sincere apologies on all inconveniences caused. You were disappointed by the internet offer and the fact that nearly everyone was served Schnitzel nevertheless what has been ordered.

As stated before we are currently updating and modifying our internet service to improve our standards accordingly. So soon we will have WiFi available also in all of our guest rooms.
Furthermore we have discussed your feedback with our service team to avoid such mistakes in the future.

We do hope that you accept our apologies and would be delighted to soon welcome you back at our hotel.

With kind regards,

Alexandra Drobig

I must say the staff is friendly and it is clear that once this was a nice hotel. The major setback of course is their wifi policy: no wifi in the room, and only in the lobby available for a ridiculous sum of money, whilst clients (they did not gave me the feeling of being treated as a a "guest") will even have to pay for each extra apparatus being used. I was in a conference, and participants that were not staying in the hotel, could not use internet, as only a limited number of vouchers were available. Come on. Really.

Other setbacks:
- outdated and cheap furniture in the rooms
- toilets suitable only for midgets or children
- the inability to open the window decently, and a message on the window stating I don't need to open the window, as the room has airconditioning.
- the invitation to commit fraud: you advertise on the in-room entertainment tv that using the adult channels on the room will be mentioned as "communications services" on the hotel bill. I think it should read "pornography".

But again: the staff is overall friendly. And the food is decent.

Thinking about it: those who mistake pornography for communications services cannot be blamed for mistaking airconditioned rooms to one filled with fresh air, probably. And maybe they want us not to use our own eh... communications services.

Room Tip: Rooms close to the elevator may have Wifi.

A business conference brought us to Vienna and this hotel was chosen for its proximity to the streetcar/tram system and the center of Vienna. This historic site has seen several make-overs since its start as a military riding school in 1850, which included room renovations in 2013. As a part of the Marriott chain, we were assured a pleasant stay. The hotel staff spoke English and were very helpful. The streetcar to the Opera area was a long block away, but a short ride (4 quick stops). The room was very comfortable, quiet, with an up-to-date bathroom. A wonderful, full buffet breakfast with made-to-order omelets was included. The on-site Austrian cuisine restaurant, Arsenal, was welcomed after arriving later in the evening following some travel issues. My one complaint was the in-room, hard-wired internet, which was relatively expensive (about 20 Euros/day for one computer) considering that many hotels offer free in-room WiFi.

A nicely appointed and comfortable hotel, close to the airport and transport connections. But a bit off the beaten track - although near the Belverdere gardens. Food excellent. Beds really comfortable, rooms okay size wise. not small, but not large by any means. Some ( quite a bit on reflection) road noise intrusion for those rooms facing the school side of the hotel.

Would I stay again? - sorry - no - because there is no wi-fi in rooms - and they charge for internet access. Sorry just not acceptable these days!
