The hotel was convenient to transportation, so you could take the S7 switching to the U3 straight from the airport and walk around the corner to the hotel. Wanting to see sights? Then you can take the U1 switching to U4 to Schonbrunn Palace, so the location was totally convenient to major sights. There are great restaurants in the pedestrian zone/Stefansplatz area around the corner from the hotel. You can walk to the Hofburg Palace in 5 minutes. The bathroom of the hotel was modern with a nice shower. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was a nice size, especially for Europe. I thought the breakfast was good, especially since most European hotels offer only rolls/coffee/tea. The buffet had scrambled eggs, fruit, cheeses, ham, breads, etc. The staff was helpful, and the WiFi worked well in lobby/breakfast room, but not well in the room. I agree with others that this was inconvenient, esp. when you had to log on every time. When we return to Vienna, we will stay here once again. This was very minor compared to all of the positives found with this hotel. I thought the value was excellent.

We stayed in this hotel for 6 nights and had a great time. The location is unsurpassed, right in the centre of Vienna and very close to the historic St Stephan's Cathedral. It made everything so easy as it was close, walking distance to most of the major sites and had a great choice of restaurants around the area. The staff were welcoming and helpful and we found the standard of service very good. The hotel is run efficiently and very professionally. The breakfasts were good but not outstanding. Only gripe is the internet which was flaky and you need to login every time you close your device! Annoying. If you go to Vienna, I would recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: We chose a room overlooking the courtyard and it was large and very quiet.

Stayed for 2 nights, 6-7 September. Great location to St. Stephen's cathedral, shopping and the Opera House. Breakfast was very good. Hotel is older but well maintained and very clean. Staff was helpful and when asked for help with directions, restaurant reservations and arranging a taxi. I would definetly return.

The Kaiserin Elisabeth is a delightful hotel centrally located in the heart of Vienna. We stayed here for five nights in June and walked to many of the attractions including the palaces of Belvedere and Hofburg. An ample and varied breakfast was served in a charming room by the pleasant staff. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vienna.

Location, location, location - SO important. This could not be better. Right in the very center - just perfect. Next to all attractions and shopping, restaurants, etc. We were only 5 minutes away from the Opera House where we enjoyed a wonderful concert and 3 minutes away fraom St. Stephen's Cathedral.

The staff - they were just perfect.

The room; big, quiet, beautiful. Just perfect.
