My fiance and I stayed at this hotel for two nights whilst visiting the various Christmas markets in Vienna. We had Room 601 which is one of the large luxury rooms on the top floor of this hotel. This is a very large room with a king sized double bed but like most Austrian, German hotels it consisted of two large single mattresses and single duvets. The room had two windows overlooking the front street, two comfortable chairs, a wooden desk and char and a very large bathroom with modern appliances including a rain shower, hairdryer etc. The hotel is on a quiet side street so little/no noise outside whilst sleeping with the windows open.

The breakfast buffet provided enough variety so that we weren't bored of it after the second day. A good spread of cereals, various breads/rolls, cold meats, cheeses, yoghurts, and the usual cooked breakfast items.

The main reason that I didn't give the hotel 5 stars is the location. It is about 2 mins walk south of Karlsplatz station which is just outside the inner ring road. Every time we walked through Karlsplatz station it was full of homeless and/or drunks. The price of the hotels inside the inner ring road looked too expensive to me so it's a balance of cost vs location.

If I went to Vienna for another weekend break I would stay at this hotel. The staff were always friendly and happy to help when needed.

My buddy and I stayed here for two nights in July. The location is great, just outside the ring on the southern side. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were comfortable, but not overly large.

The breakfast buffet was included and is very good. Also took advantage of the computer in the lobby area. Vienna can be an expensive city, but you can certainly help keep your budget in check without sacrificing comfort if you stay here.

Enjoy this great city, and be prepared to walk a lot!!

5 to 10 minutes walking distance to the city center and 2 minutes walking distance to the subway station. Nice and friendly staff.
They were very nice to us and as we arrived early in the morning they helped us with early
checking at 9am (meanwhile we were offered a nice cope of tea/coffee which was more than we were expecting).
Excellent room service (they provided us with kettle+tea+instant coffee in our room and slippers.
Excellent buffet breakfast.

This is a very elegant hotel, at least for those of us who frequent 3 star hotels. We were given an upgrade to a large room on the 6th floor. As we did not stay in or see a standard room, I cannot comment on them. Our room was enormous as was the bath. It was very nicely furnished. The common areas are wonderful. There are crystal chandeliers, etched glass windows, a beautiful bar/sitting area, and the breakfast room is white linen, faux painted, high ceilinged, etc. The breakfast is the best we have had at a hotel. Coffee specialties are offered. Many cold cuts, cheeses, cut fruits, pastries, etc are offered. There were even scrambled eggs, French toast, and CRISP bacon. And to top it all off, champagne. The location is excellent, about 2 blocks south of the train station, 3 blocks south of the opera house. A free computer is available to hotel guests. This hotel was an absolute treat and I believe that even without the upgrade, it would have been memorable.
